For once in a long time, I feel like making a big deal out of a CG I make; why~?
Well as stereotypical as it may be, Saint Seiya definitely was a huge influence in m life as it really showed my impressionable mind at the time, what an underdog can achieve if he just persists, never gives up and give it his all even against overwhelming odds. Confidence that things will work out in the end if you refuse to lay down and have a good heart and spirit fueling your plight*.
Hell, SS even made me develop a preference, that if a game allows for you to choose an “underdog” or weak-but-fast char or class, I’ll usually go for it since it conjures the image and feeling of playing as a character like, Seiya. A glass-cannon, has the potential to do massive damage, but can die in like 2 hits, yet is able to avoid all damage instances if their speed is well administered and you move into proper position to attack and deal said max damage. Great heroic-like performance, but you have to work for it, that kind of thing.
I mean, watch episodes 51 through 53 and tell me that imagery wouldn’t impress a child into building an iron will of their own haha. I mean for how “violent” the anime was for kids at that time, I’ve gotta say it was pretty good what I got out of it haha.
And of course, the parodied backdrop of the Pegasus is modeled after Dash, of which I resemble the most out of the mane 6. I’m taking a bit of pride on this piece as well, as, again I’ve attempted a “full” background. I kina had to, cause you just can’t have a powering-up Pegasus Saint without the pegasus aura backdrop lol. Took a while since I basically had to do another (albeit lighter) CG for it.
* = Unfortunately every time I showcase that tenacity or determination, it rubs people the wrong way, as (IMHOxD) people in general have just become softer, weaker, easier to surrender and lose interest or abandon whatever they attempt, as soon as things don’t go without their inevitable bumps or obstacles (for reasons I won’t bother to get into right now, as to not make this tl;dr any longer); they cannot comprehend how anyone can fight on or power through the kind of negative rep (as baseless and petty as it may be) that I have over me everyday, alone to boot; And they certainly don’t appreciate being basically “shown up” like that, even if you don’t have any direct interaction with them, because the mere display of such strong behavior forces them to look at their own limitations and the innate shame that comes with having such wavering convictions. Abloo bloo bloo ; ;;;;

Bravo sir, Bravo, good joke with the Pegasus image.
Here in Brazil, "Saint Seya" (or as weirdly translated here, "Zodiac Knights") was a fever. If Dragon Ball (not the Z) helped to open up a market for Animes in my home country, Saint Seya was the one to popularize it and broaden the horizons.
It also taught me and my friends that you can love something, even if that is really silly and with really, really goofy moments.
WAIT DON'T KILL ME!
I mean, really! Even as kids we poked fun on how much blood they lost each punch they received! And how brittle their armor was! I mean, it's 'steel' that crackles like glass! I mean it's an armor tha-

You, sir, are my hero. My love for SS is huge (and precisely this year my interest for SS returned after so many time) as it was also one of the animes which influenced me so much as well. Seiya, as annoying and persistant as he was, was a true hero who never gave up hope and fought till the end (and lets not forget the rest of the saints of hope as well :D ) truly a memorable protagonist. I'm so glad there is still people arround who knows this series (since many of my friends are not much interested onto it although I tried to raise conscience on them about the awesomeness that is this anime ^^; )
I absolutely love how you drew the cosmo aura behind the Seiya-like character, it almost look like the original anime one (except is Rainbow Dash on it). And you caught Seiya typical battle stance perfectly. >D

I'll just quote you on this, because it strikes so close to home with me, lol
Thanks for showing a bit of the emotion behind this piece. :,D It really means a lot to me that you shared the deep underlying feelings that go through your head, the ones that fueled your mind growing up. I always find those themes inspiring to me in my life, and I wish to follow their path. Anything that calls on that "underdog" story lands a special place in my heart.
On the surface though, this is a really well worked and energized piece, and I haven't ever seen SS but I'm sure it's a great tribute to it's message. :3

You should take a good bit of pride in this piece. It's really impressive! I think this may be my fave piece from you now, too! Admittedly I've only seen a little bit of SS whenever it was on TV as Knights of the Zodiac and it was pretty cool. Never followed up on it very far but I'll be damned if your SS related pics don't make me wanna check it out again haha!
That is a DAMN good way of thinking man. A positive attitude and the confidence that things will work out okay in the end if you just work hard and stick it out is a rare thing these days. Hell, i'd hazard to guess that its not really that common in any age.
Was first introduced to SS through Toonami's dubbed version, Knights of the Zodiac. The biggest thing I ever remembered from it was the kickass intro, and I've only just now gotten into SS again through The Lost Canvas. If it ends up leaving me anywhere near as excited as you are about the series by the end, i'll definitely have to go back and watch the classics =p

This is all kinds of awesome. I never saw Saint Seiya, but even though it does sound cliche, it also sounds like a must-watch anime. I admire determination and tenacity like that; worthwhile endeavors are rarely without their fair share of obstacles, after all. Also, thanks for sharing the theme and inspiration behind this.
Oh yeah! Also, the CG's are full of win. =D
Mad props on all counts.
