As an artist, the only thing I find more frustrating then not being able to come up with ideas is having too many ideas and not enough time to flesh them out. This dragon here, for instance, has been sitting in my sketchbook for over a year before I re-discovered him again.
This is why you should keep all your old sketchbooks, kids- even if your drawing skill has vastly improved since then, good ideas never age.

If that's how you dug this picture out by reading sketchbooks before, then I believe most of the sketches are not only to record what you've drawn, but also a good reminder to tell you what should be improved, and somehow to combine the sketchbook's current picture with new idea.
