on the s.p. on our hill, (sacramento division, later sacramento sub) the 1500's and later, even 1200's, were equipped as road power and sometimes used this way. (and likewise down rated road power found its way into goat service (and still does quite commonly, even since the s.p. having been gobbled up by u.p.))
