I don't feel like being patriotic this year. x_x Too much shit been going on in my country so much that I can't help but feeling ashamed of it. Regardless, I still identify myself as a Malaysian and try to be proud of it, and that is what I always do when faced with shameful events that's occurring here.
This is an alternate fur pattern for my fursona which I've made specifically for exclusive use for Malaysia's National Day, held on every August 31st. The first use of it was here: http://marwangreencritter.deviantar.....arwan-10214564
This picture was a response to after hearing about two separate incidents that occurred during the eve of the national day this year. One, some angry teens decided to step on and even mooning at pictures of our current Prime Minister of Malaysia. Another, and this is more controversial, two teens decided to fly a flag which looks like the Indonesian flag but with the yellow crescent and the Federal Star pasted at the top left corner, and advertised it as an alternative to our usual Malaysian flag.
It's a long story; I think I'll write it in my journal instead.

Still cool. You almost seemed Captain Ame... I mean... Malaysia because of the colours.
In anyway I think I understand what you mean with that. For me I still a Portuguese furry as you are a Malaysian furry, but sometimes I just don't understand somethings that the President or the Prime Minister does. Somethings like low wages, unemployment, but one of those things that I really don't like is that what they call "new orthographic agreement". It still not so bad in somethings but here are some words that are just wrong with this new orthography.
Those are just some of the reasons that make me feel less Portuguese. I mean come on! Portugal isn't Brazil!... Oh well... Sometimes I think that Portugal isn't the same country that I knew before...

Thanks. =) The fact that the Malaysian flag uses similar design and color scheme as the American flag (except for the addition of a fourth color, yellow) makes it trickier to design my fur pattern without making it look too American-ish to anyone not familiar with the Malaysian flag. For one thing, ending the tail tip with the white stripe is important because it's one of the ways to distinguish the Malaysian flag from the American flag: the Malaysian flag has 14 stripes, while the American flag has only 13.
Malaysia is already full of corruption and governmental censorship. Every country is the same; none of us is perfect. And we still like to pretend as if our country is "perfect"... Big deal. =_= We lie to ourselves all the time.

Oh. I didn't knew about the number of stripes on flags ^_^"...
In anyway I know that noone is perfect. But what I think is that the government should think well on things before doing anything. If I could I would like to tell you a joke but I don't know how to tell it in english because it's portuguese. But I can make a drawing about that if you like so. Works better. ^_^

Thanks! ^_^ I know. It's just that I'm upset with the situation that's going on recently here. >_< And it's not just the aforementioned incidents I've mentioned in the description.
We constantly tell ourselves that Malaysia is perfect, where everyone is friendly and there are no violence going on. This is one big lie! The government always scrutinize the news to make themselves look good in the eyes of Malaysians. Yet once Malaysians start reading the news on the Internet about Malaysia as reported by foreign media, that's when Malaysians finally see our government's true colors... and it's not that pretty.
Malaysia is my home, period.
