The style differences in the main hull, hangar, and engine esctions are a result of three different companies building the three said sections of the ship:

Hangarcorp Labs: front half/main hull, life support, power, etc.
Kirisawa Heavy Mech Industries: Weaponry, hangar portion, the framework that doubles as braces for the engines and storage space
Aerotech: engines, communications equipment, and convenience accessories (furniture, vending machines, restrooms, cafeteria, gyms, rec rooms, etc.)
