Hello ZBrush4... You are one hell of a pain in the ass but I like You anyways. It's 6 am and I spent past 5 hours figuring out how this works... More or less, rather less..
It's mostly Your fault
;) Thank You for inspiring me :)
It was supposed to be my sonnas portrait, I'll prolly be working on it...
Gah, bed.
Please enjoy!

It's much easier to sculpt in RL :P At least then I know what I'm doing and what I'm going to get ;D Pretty much so:P You are making such looooovely equines with this stuff I wanted to check it out by myself :P
No worries, this will be rather a casual thing for me :P It's too frustrating for one time and so friggin complex xD
But it's fun alright ;)

it looks pretty great actually, I am working on this with the school I am going with, for the most part, I found that using a side picture and a front picture and bringing them into zbrush as image plans it helps allot, and then from there allot of the base shaping should be done in 1 divisions mode, and then dividing it upward once you got the base shape down and just working on it from there just a little bit at a time really helps.
I dunno if all of this is making sense or not, but trust me using Zbrush is allot nicer than using Maya.

Thank You :3 I wish they taught us things like that at school;/ I saw that technique in some toutorial yesterday.. Someone was making a gun and he
had those three side, 2D views. Pretty much some dark magic at this time ;D
I heard very good opinions about Zbrush, I had Sculptris for some time but it didn't work for me :P

Yeah Zbrush is interesting, but if you line up the image planes in photoshop just right, and then save em both at a certain size, and make sure they are absolutely square and you put them into Zbrush, I can almost guarantee you, it will be allot easier! Especially if you make your model see through, just make sure to turn off ghost if you have the newest version.
as for the school thing, I'm in a full time collage getting a degree so I can work for Disney sometime soon. So its more of a specialty kind of schooling. The school I go to specializes in the movies, gaming, and musical industries. So its kinda like a huge art school.
and tutorials help too, although I find its a little harder to fallow when they aren't working on something similar to the person using the video, but that could just be meh ><
Zbrush is an amazing program, especially considering how bad Maya behaves. Have you ever used Maya before?

I'm sure I will make it all I need to do is continue to be as stubborn as I have been about failing anything ><
and yeah Maya is a real treat, it has allot to offer, but is is a program where literally everyone I have talked to about it talks about it like it has a personality of its own, it chooses what it wants to do when it wants to do it really... all one can do is try and work with it as best as one can.
but Zbrush is pretty niffty, this week we retologized it so we could bring it into maya, to make a small modification and then bring it back into zbrush and made some blend shapes, which is basically giving the model some emotions and such, then we bought it back into maya so we could plug it all in so we can activate the emotions with a scale thing >< its pretty neat, it honestly sounds more difficult then it is, except the retopologizing thing, that was a little difficult for the ears.
^^;
either way though, I think you have this program pretty well understood to make the model you did make. speaking off, did you make this from scratch, like a circle shape and molded it from there, or did you get your hands on a base head mold and worked from there?

I'll be holding my fingers crossed ;)
;DD Program with a personality, that sounds like trouble, but prolly when You know the program well, it's easier to cope with.
Oh, if those two can cooperate, that's awesome ! It's very helpful, I know it from working in photoshop and SAI ;)
Yes, I actually did it from a sphere^^ But I studied sculpture and it's something I used to do for years :P But that's the first time I sculpted something in a program :P
Fun part is You don't get dirty ;D

exactly funny thing is I have never done any kind of sculpting till this class where we did it on the zbrush program, so i have to say it was pretty interesting, although they set us up with a present head/shoulders base to work from, because we are modeling it to look like us, making the teeth I believe, and making the hair and rendering it on maya, so yeah there's allot we learn in a month lol
either way I think you did pretty amazing especially getting as far as you did with starting at a sphere.
