Blaze the Ninetails, final member of Team Indigo of the PokéCombat Academy for Higher Learning
(
pokecombatacademy )
As a kit, Blaze was raised by her aunt, who happened to be a well-respected cop in the region. Aside from taking young Blaze along with her during nightly workout sessions, she also taught her niece the tried-and-true battling techniques of federal crime fighters, whose sole purpose was to take down foes who had the intention to use their own techniques to maim and kill. As a result, Blaze started out with respectable battle training early on. But the physical fight is only half the battle, and due to the stories her aunt told her of her own experiences as a cop, Blaze soon learned that the psychological aspect was all the more interesting to handle.
As she grew up, Blaze developed a staggering sense of cunning and strategy, aided in no small part by researching the techniques and methods used by her aunt and her crew. Before long, Blaze herself began showing impressive results in her battles with peers, using strategies thought impossible for one a young as her to come up with. As the years went on, she also used her powers to sharpen her edge and send her opponents to the ground before they even realize what happened. Teaming up with her Eevee friend Tesla (who would later nickname himself “Storm” after evolving into a Jolteon), the pair were a force to be reckoned with thanks to Blaze’s smarts and Tesla’s speed. Upon entering the academy together and teaming up with Neon the Dragonair and Stiletto the Sandslash, Indigo’s prowess only increased.
As you can imagine, Blaze is Team Indigo’s strategist and tactical fighter, possessing the ability to come up with ingenious plans of battle and working them enough to switch tactics on the fly depending on how the situation evolves during the fight. Owing to her investigative nature, she has a knack for figuring out opponents and she spends much of her time observing others around her when she’s not busy with schoolwork. She also possesses some interesting trump cards in her move repertoire, the mainstay of which is Hypnosis and Confuse Ray, which work in deadly combination to keep opponents guessing what’s going to happen next. Because of this, few can bare to stare into those shimmering, ruby-red eyes of hers, and many opponents swore that she was trying to hypnotize them into falling for her strategies (Blaze herself often expects them to think she’ll try this, therefore fooling them into another trap). Battles fought against her team usually consist of clever set-ups, reversals, and trumps that keep the fight interesting for the spectators and force opponents to think on their feet in attempt to figure out something Blaze didn’t plan ahead for (a rare occurrence indeed; challengers are better off powering through in hopes that they can outlast the team, which can be tough to do with Neon and Stiletto powering back). To those that try to combat her directly, not only does she possess the battle-hardened military tactics of federal agents, but her species' own special attack and defense power keep her running. Even most water and ground types grudgingly respect her (due mostly to grass-type attacks she conveniently possesses, such as Solar Beam and Energy Ball :p ).
As a person, Blaze is rather quiet and reserved, but by no means shy, as anyone that’s met eyes with her has found out. She is a strong, confidant female who never judges, but always seems to have a good idea of the character of people she meets. Although she doesn’t like to act high-and-mighty (a cop has to be compassionate, too) she doesn’t really like a ‘live and let live’ approach to individuals with less-than-noble intentions. Don’t expect her to come out and say it, however; subtlety is her specialty, after all.
She and Storm are inseparable friends; they’ve even been sent to the Principal’s office together back when they used to (inadvertently) start fights in elementary and middle school. A few sharper-eyed Pokémon have noticed that she seems to have a bit of an attraction to him, which he himself seems to be oblivious to. Another frustrating aspect of that (to Blaze, at least) is the fact that Storm’s been eyeing Sherilyn the Manectric lately...
She hopes to graduate from the Academy not as a prize fighter or anything, but to prepare for a future role as a cop, inspired by her aunt. Attending the Academy itself has also sparked such interests, especially with rumors going about of a drugpusher calling himself “Arrow” reportedly being spotted on Academy grounds, encouraging her to do some investigating on her own...

Hm, Sherilyn eh? He might be in for a bit of a surprise ;) Though I did think of someone else that might take a liking to Storm...
Fellow tacticians like this are one reason why Nicole keeps Mitzi around. The fuzzball is such a completely unpredictable ball of chaos that analysts have no idea how to deal with her.

It's not a love circle, rather that he isn't exactly her type, let's say. She just isn't forthcoming about it, she's not interested in the distraction of a relationship. At least that's what she tells herself, who's to say what could happen though...
And it's Tessa who has an eye on him. Of course he's not alone in that regard.

Well, I meant the attractions that pop up in a normal academic environment; I guess "love circle" might've been a poor choice of words :p
Alas, let's hope the realization doesn't bring him down too much, heh. It's neat that Tessa would be the one eying him (hmm... gives me an idea for an interesting scene between them, now that you mention it).
