This is the USS Iowa's guest quarters... and also a museum guide, who didn't have the courtesy to step out of the exhibit so visitors could get unhindered photos of it.
But anyways, all sorts of VIPs have used these quarters, including at least three US Presidents. You can read about them here;

If I recall correctly, among US warships, only the Iowa's guest quarters were so lavishly furnished --- though spacious and comfortable, the admiralty quarters on other major US warships have furnishings and such that have more in common with a Motel 6 room.

Thanks!
Yeah, the guy was just walking back and forth, like an animal in a cage. It's really bizarre, because he seemed to have been assigned to *physically* prevent people from stepping into that area --- which was not only roped-off anyway, but there were other museum employees in the room besides him.
It was the only part of my visit that disappointed me, and I fully-understood in advance that this was a 50+ year old historic landmark in need of both security and TLC.
But this was going overboard!
