Triage Bio-Medical Sprint Operatives are fast and deadly, wearing a 'dumb' symbiont that has been genetically modified to cover its wearer and enhance their physical abilities, much like an exomuscle suit, though to a much greater degree. the Operative dons a half-mask to prevent the symbiont from interfering with communication, then puts on the prepared backpack unit that keeps the symbiont alive and pacified. The symbiont then covers the host, providing a huge boost in physical ability, as well as forming a layer of tough, reactive armour. Finally, the operative puts on the visor unit, which provides a tactical HUD as well as some additional protection; it wires into the backpack unit to take advantage of the Virtual Intelligence that controls the symbiont.
Between suiting up, transit time, and a safety margin, Sprint Operatives are on the ground an average of just six minutes per sortie, before they are extracted and returned to the nearest base of operations to have the symbiont removed. If an Operative remains a host for too long, the Symbiont will begin to... consume the host. Though the process is not very painful, it quickly becomes inoperable, and inevitably leads to the death of the host. The control VIs have an integrated killswitch that will automatically release a toxin to destroy the symbiont if the Operative has been active for too long, or has been killed, in order to prevent enemies from gaining access to a symbiont or its host.
The X-34T "Darter" Carbine uses a biologically-modified plant that is capable of launching razor-sharp spines covered in potent neuro-toxins at supersonic speeds as a base, with mechanical alterations to allow for greater accuracy, semi-automatic firing, and a magazine of pre-extracted spines.
