Sword and Shield of Blackmarch
The Sword and Shield of Blackmarch, as wielded by Gavin, given to him by the Marquess.
The Sword and Shield of Blackmarch
The Sword
The Sword of Blackmarch was enchanted to never rust or dull, maintaining its razor-sharpness no matter how much use the blade saw. Blessed silver had been worked into the steel, making the blade even more deadly when used against undead creatures and demons. The ruby and solid gold eagle that made up the pommel had also been blessed by priestesses to give the sword more power against evil creatures and wielders of dark magicks. The smaller ruby on the guard could be used to imbue the blade with ethereal flame, making the slightest touch fatal to vampires as well as being visually impressive.
The Shield
The shield was of finely wrought steel, emblazoned with the Roc and Black Oak that were the symbols of Blackmarch, the crimson, black, and gold enamel protected by by a coat of thick gloss, and enchanted to provide protection against both magick and conventional attacks. The eye of the eagle was a flawless ruby enchanted to protect against necromancy and blood magicks and the gold accents provided the shield with a magickal barrier that deflected arrows and crossbow bolts and kept the surface of the shield pristine no matter how many attacks were deflected.
