The tail threw me too...but I love the brindling!!! I do so love brindles...this fellow looks a lot like the greyhound my aunt had, a wonderful, BEAUTIFUL dog. Kinda a cool story how she got him...she applied to a racing greyhound rescue, and was approved...so they sent her a form asking details about what kind of dog she wanted. On the form was a place asking "color" and she wrote "see attached" instead of a color.
She then wrote a letter and stapled it to the back of the form, saying she wanted the color of dog that they couldn't adopt out. Whatever color the least adoptable dog with no chances of getting a home, that was her choice.
They sent her Ian, who had behavior issues and who had been terribly abused before being seized. He also had some health issues. Over time she overcame all of his issues (even the health ones) and he blossomed into a wonderful pet! And he was a striking red brindle, like a tiger. :D
