So, I threatened to ban him if he didn't asked
victor-933 to redraw my Bha'ri Outsystem Mining Ship in a less eye-raping more appealing fashion. I guess I caught him in the right mood because he did it -- He normally does not do requests of any sort.
Anyway, here it is. Hecompletely ignored my design took a few artistic liberties in designing the vessel.
Original image in the link in above, here's the setting info:
The Bha'ri are an alien race that do not much care for non-planetary systems - or rather, systems with worlds that cannot be Bha'riformed to be habitable.
As these systems are not too common, the Bha'ri employ fleets of resource miners for out of system resource stripping. This ship design has two large cargo bays for storing partially-refined metals, that detach from the main control ship and have four smaller mining ships each. The control vessel moves the cargo pods around to each location. Closer in to the home stars, these guys never leave the system they're assigned to - they instead dump their cargo to a central warehouse, which is then loaded onto a massive superfreighter.
Farther out, these guys travel back and forth to the nearest depot - and farther still, civilian operated designs (such as the one specifically pictured here) will operate in competition or on contract with the government corporation.
Out system mining is usually seen as a punishment, and those who volunteer for it are considered to be a little on the crazy side - hence why the Bha'Ri Corporate State allows competition in this area; it gets crazy people away from the home stars.
The Bha'ri are technically my alien race in victor-933's Hadean setting, although the Hadeans haven't encountered the Bha'ri just yet.
In terms of combat, the Bha'ri prefer large long-range powered missile duels (See the Honor Harrington universe 'podnaughts') over closer ranged kinetic and energy weaponry. However, while their presence in non-Bhariformed systems is minimal, their colonized systems are covered in a dense SAPL system. Basically a very distributed set of mirrors that focus and concentrate sunlight, the SAPL is half mining laser that can be broken down into many subparts, and part system defense, in the sense where the highest level mirrors can handle (and be fed) an exawatt-level 'laser'.

Let's just hope you don't pick up any sentient organic nanobots, then take them your science bay, that subtly trys to take over the ship, so you have to eject a part of your ship, witch the life from takes the control of the jettisoned module as their own ship and flys off, so you have to make a entire campaign to research, hunt, and destroy this thing. Uniting everyone and making the universe a better place, lintel the Vaygr mess things up for everyone later >_>
