great job.. if you're gonna use Audacity like a multi-track recorder... watch your levels when recording your tracks individually.. gain stage the sound you're going to record on the track... that is ..turn the device all the way up before you play anything out of it... if it generates a high hiss sound.. turn the volume down slowly till you no longer hear it. then play the sound device or instrument. Using the meter and input volume slider in Audacity try to not go over zero db... a safe range would be -6 to -3 db. when you have all the tracks recorded... adjust them individually using the sliders and meters on the tracks in mixer board view... watch the Audacity level meter... again try not to go over 0 db to avoid clipping distortion. Again -6 to -3 db should do it but if you feel adventurous try to get close to 0 db but don't go over it.. you can watch the little peak bars.. they stay there for about 4 seconds before changing to the next current peak level based on where the green or red bar is. Anyway.. I use Audacity as my go to sampler and wave editor. Even though i use Reason 6.5 .. its great for editing and processing sounds i'm going to use as samples. Also Audacity is great for doing collabs with someone who might use a different DAW or music software application that can read .wav or .aiff files or other sound file types... Anyways I hope some of this helps.
