Ok, here's some back history on this one. I am a black cat, but, when I was in high school, I had convinced myself that I was a wolf (like so many people insist on doing).
I wrote this while in high school, and, like many, I had my problems and angst (in fact, I'm not quite sure I don't still have angst). I love this poem, even if it no longer applies to me. And I'm sure the many wolves here on this site will love it too.
As for the cut/paste:
I will be posting the same comment for each poem, so that those that have not read any others still get the benefit of the comment. So here it is:
I don't claim to be a poet. But I figure if I can't post artwork (cause, even though I do have some to post, its either a)not anthro b)good, but not enough to get me to post on this site cause I am intimidated, or c)can't get my husband to show me how to use the scanner, and get it to the laptop that shares some files with our main computer (I'm not technically minded).
In any case, again, I figure I can at least post poems, of which I do have, can type, etc...
Since most people do not wish to click on "download" to read someone's stuff, I will also be typing it here, in the description, to give quicker, not need to download, access. They're all pretty short poems anyway, so it's cool.

I am

“So you want to know who I am.
Well, I have many faces.
I am the one ranchers curse for their dead livestock.
I am the one hunters grow legendary by.
I am the one talked of with the little girl in the red cape.
I am the one, who, at the sound of my call, wakes people in their beds with a fright.
I am the one who preys on dreams.
I am the one no one will ever escape.
Yes, I am all of these and more.
But you will know me only as your friend,
For this is the only face you wish to see.
And I warn you, that will be your downfall.
I am Le Loup."
