It's been awhile since we've posted a 'preview panel' for Red Lantern, but I think this page warrants it. I put a TON of time into some of the detail work on this page, and unfortunately once it's shrunk down, you'll miss a lot of the detail. So, here's some of it :)
If you aren't already reading Red Lantern, you can do so here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4260941
I actually handled this critter pretty much entirely myself, but Red Lantern - Conviction is a collaborative comic between myself and
Myenia, who has been teaching me a great deal about light and shadow. I hope y'all are enjoying our collaboration for this comic :)

The reptiles and the mammals in this comic are at war. War is never a pleasant thing, and I'm not going to portray it as a pleasant thing. No one is being cast in a 'negative' light, and neither side in the conflict in Red Lantern is 'right', or 'wrong'. I wish folks would stop taking this presumed anti reptile bias so personally.
I'd rather not spoil the storyline, but I'm getting tired of making this point. The Cathazra are not evil. They are the opposing side in a conflict, and as more of the reasons for the war come out, you'll see what I mean when I say they are not, in actuality, the 'villains'.

It looks like that American Politian’s create a very simple concept of an enemy with 40 years of the bad Russians on the doorstep and it looks more likely that this good and evil concept is not easy to erase from the hard drive.
But when Saddam attacks Iran he is America’s best buddy and when he attacks Kuwait he is the new Hitler????
Rukis the Cathazras must attack Iran then and they will be the good guys again.

Saddam has always been evil. Just as we have always been at war with Eurasia, and Eastasia has always been our ally. ;)
But yeah love the fact that it gets glossed over into black and white so easily. But then, if you demonize whoever is currently your enemy, it makes it seem less immoral to kill them.
"Rukis the Cathazras must attack Iran then and they will be the good guys again." XD Okay, I'll admit. I lol'ed.

Hmm, you are right, I should wait until more of the story is revealed. I was basing my accusations on the story being very focused on the mammals, showing their point of view, them pretty much raping the reptiles when the two came into conflict (though I must admit that both sides did suffer losses) and lastly the few times that we have seen reptiles they have either been attacking the main characters or been morally questionable, like these latest guys have been. I apologise for that and I'll wait to see how the story progresses.
It still surprises me people think you've been making the reptiles have a negative light about them, people don't seem to understand human(or in this case anthro) sacrifices were a common thing, not only that but I've not seen one thing that says. "HAY GUYZ WE TEH EVILZ RAWRRRRRR"
In fact if anything Luthar might be the evil one, for all we know the "Defiler" title he has been given was for destroying some holy site of the reptiles.
in short, people need to stop reading between the lines.

Must... resist... urge.... to kill..... RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRR!!!
Seriously, I'm betting Luther assassinate/raped/or otherwise desecrated something precious to the Cathazra.... Probably as revenge for the death of his love, the Admiral. Who in turn was killed for being the head of the Amurescan forces trying to invade the Cathazra's homeland to colonize for their own. But the Cathazra in turn, were bloodthirsty and totally okay with killing and ritual sacrifice. Not unlike the Mayans, and Incans.
Aztec came later and were also into death for fun. *points at their "Sporting Competitions" where the losers were cut open as sacrifice to some god or goddess with a necklace of tongues, and a crown of human bones.*
