Concept blatantly stolen from Wizards of the Coast, owners of Magic: The Gathering CCG.
Yeah. It's pretty self-explanatory, and there's a great deal of Sliver errata on the net (The Riptide Project, several books, more recent cycles of M:TG), but I've got nothing better to do.
A sliver, or this sliver anyway, is a genetically engineered, semi-hive-minded evolution machine. Slivers adapt rapidly to their surroundings, meaning within HOURS or in some cases less, then relay this information to every sliver in the same hive, up to a certain range. The core design is the only type reproduced, but one can assume they pick up the traits of others fairly rapidly after hatching.
Said core design is still pretty fearsome, with a reaving claw, a head designed to punch through magisteel, etc. Just no really fancy bits like wings or acid spit.
Anyway, babblebabble. The little one can spit acid and acts nearly identical to a cat. The other is just big and sexy.
