MATCH FOUR: Reynard “Réne” Vulpes vs. Nicole Zuna
&&&
René’s heart thudded against his chest so hard he was afraid that his ribs would break before the match would begin. Each foot step was met with a pins-and-needles sensation. He gulped. Nicole winked at him. Somehow, it didn’t make him feel better. She wasn’t going to hold back…heck, she probably didn’t even know HOW.
Nicole smirked to herself. “Now I’m gonna see just what you’re made of René…impress me!”
Vice-Principle Perjan raised his arm. “Begin!” René felt like throwing up. Instead, he used Flamethrower, hoping against hope that he would hit her from afar. Considering she was clear on the other side of the ring, she had plenty of time to dodge it.
Nicole zipped across the arena until she was bearing down on the hapless fox. He used Tackle, hoping to catch her off guard. True, she was surprised that the mild-mannered and frankly scared looking mon would try to take the offensive. She veered off, letting René zip right past her. Nicole smirked as she looked over her shoulder then blinked when he spat a blast at Ember at her unprotected back.
Cursing herself, Nicole leapt out of the way but let out a yelp as the flame idly smacked the back of her thighs. More annoyed than hurt Nicole, turned back and glared at René. René used Flamethrower again. Nicole wasn’t put off.
“You’re not the only one with a range attack!” Nicole boasted as she countered with Poison Sting. The two attacks collided mid-arena with a blast that obscured what was going on in; though the audience—both the Board Members plus some assorted students—had no trouble voicing their opinions.
“Wow!” “Someone use Gust!” “Are they still going at it?” “Holy crap!” “Hell yeah!”
The teams were having their own excited conversations. “Nicolas is SO gonna regret missing this!” Emily blinked.
“Finish him off!” Sexton shouted.
René’s team had his own words of encouragement:
“Pants her when you get close enough!” Romano whooped. Rahne looked at her like she was nuts.
“Romano! What good’ll that do?!” Romano shrugged and gave an impish smile.
“It’ll either be a good first date or a distraction.”
René coughed and batted his hands as he tried to clear away the smoke in front of him “Where did?—” He wondered before someone grabbed his forearm. “What the hell?” He exclaimed in shock and found himself staring face to face with a very excited and determined looking Nicole.
“Come to sistah!” She smirked. Out in the bleachers Emily smirked to Sexton and muttered.
“Dude we won.”
Sexton smirked. “Let me guess…” He drawled. “He just met the ‘Lil ’ Momma.”
In the ring, Nicole grabbed René and threw him over her shoulder. Nicole grabs her opponent's arm and side steps inward, digging her shoulder into René’s side; knocking the air out of him. Then Nicole took René over her back and jumps into the air. She rolled his body forward and threw him to the floor below. In that same move she adjusted and landed on top of his midsection with her elbow. René’s sharp intake of breath could be heard in the bleachers.
“I think…I need…a new…spleen.” He wheezed and gasped. Nicole leapt down on top of him, admittedly more gently, and pinned him. She smiled a bit as he lay on his back, his eyes still unfocused. Well, she could fix that last part at least. Looking around to make sure the smoke cloud was still fairly thick, Nicole leaned over and kissed the defenseless fox as he lay stunned. Quickly she stuffed a note down his shirt—the same one she had been looking over before the match started—and backed away. The cloud of smoke cleared just in time for the watchers to see Nicole standing over René, who had fainted, his tails curled.
“The winner is…Nicole Zuna!” Perjan announced, as if there was any doubt. As Rahne went over to scoop up René, Romano scratched her head.
“Huh. So they won two and we won two…who won the bet? I’m hungry!”
“I guess we’ll split the costs.” Emily shrugged. “Great match though. Dynamite ending!”
“Yeah.” Romano nodded as Rahne carried René off to the nurse. “Let’s go down to the Nurse’s office so we can fill in the others on how things played out.”
René awoke some time later in the nurse’s office to the distant sounds of talking and laughter. Still in his bed, he wearily manage to pry one eye open and dig around in his shirt until he found what Nicole had shoved down there. Taking out the crumpled piece of paper, René read it to himself.
To Rene,
I like you too.

P.S.- If you are reading this I kicked your cute fuzzy butt X3
René’s eyeballs turned up as he passed out again.

Man, Rene passes out pretty easily.
Marine: But he does have a cute, fuzzy, and temptingly cuddable rear.
I shall decline comment. If solely because I don't feel like finding out if that is true.
Marine: I'm all for finding out. *the buizel squeels and glomps Rene's tails*
Kody: *sighes and prepares an anidote*
