A-4P Skyhawk C-240, Fuerza Aérea Argentina, based in Rio Gallegos in 1982 during the Malvinas War with the United Kingdom. Altought my oily paint gime me several troubles at the begun, i am mega happy with the result!!! infact the paint looked very worn even during the war in some planes, and a lot more after it , ALMOST 40% of the plane was without paint in the last years of service. Was retired in 1991
During the war, 10 A-4P was lost. The C-240 survived to the war and is actually in the FAA Museum in Morón ( http://aeronavesendetalle.blogspot......awk-c-240.html ) and LOT of years ago, i get photos with it! XD http://dingopatagonico.deviantart.c.....arque#/d25c2u0 XD destiny?

Here the A-4P is in one of the usual "anti-ship" configurations of the war, armed with a single Mk 17 bomb of 500 kgs and the obligatory GIANTIC EXTRA FUEL TANKS , plus the useless colt 20 mm cannons that never worked well and was reeplaced after the war by the DEFA of 30 mm
the REAL damage caused by the argentine armed forces just will be know 90 years after the end of the war ( o sea el 14 de junio de 2072 ) caused by a military secret act. Usual in the british goverments when the things gone bad, even if they won

the sea harrier is very superior in air combat, specially with our planes at amximun range missions, without missiles, with unuseless cannons, and with the shining AIM-9L in british hands. Really wasn´t prepared for anti ship war, but our pilots did a very good work after all =3
we used also the A-4Cs ( Air Force too ) and the lasts operative A-4Qs ( Argentine Navy ), both suffered several losses in the war but made lot of damage and sunked british ships. Actually we have the A-4AR (A-4M with F-16 radar)

our A-4Cs and Qs used the shrafrirs, ollllllllllllllllldie ones, but really was used in the crisis with Chile, very few in Malvinas War. Same happened with the Daggers and the same missiles.
Is good to know that the british are one of the people that recognize first the bravery of the argentine pilots, flying in obsolete planes without radar, ecm, missiles, blah blah, c´mon, bomb + fuel + pilot XD Our unique new planes for that time was the Mirages IIIEA and the ULTRA HYPER MEGA NEW Super Etendarts. but just 5 of the last ones XD
In the other side, is incredibly see the HORRIBLE bad sea and weather conditions where the Harriers Gr. 3 and the Sea Harreirs flyied from the Invincible and Hermes... even with new planes, requires a brutal effort from them and the maintennance guys!

if even argentina delayed years to accept good and bad facts ( like the sinking of the Hercules Tanker Ship ) i just can wonder the INFINITE MILLON OF THINGS that bond hides... =3 *image of the queen escaping in jetpack with james bond theme, of course* XD
like the helicopter that EXPLODES WITHOUT REASON at just kms of here, flying between my city and caleta olivia. i could bet my soul that was shooted down by a SAS group with a blowpipe from a submarine or some like that... our coast wasn´t exactly super protected, is too long!
From this angle is invisible, because i hide it some so good in fact; have 2 door protects for each main wheel, , not one as should! XD i added the "close position" ones to can add some insignificant grs of weight (is impossible by inside, have a large engine, the main jet, plus the cockpit, simply doesn´t have much space) and the ones that you can see in the image behind the tanks are made of SHEET by me! XD
when your A-4 arrives, will be transformed into Q, with the snakeyes X3 i definitly want have it in my fleet! x3
and yeah, the bad paint was enought good in this case! X3

The airfix kit is brand new... so I am interested in what you think of it? I have heard good things about it, and airfix are already selling 'dog-fight' double with a sea harrier (although no dogfights occured XD).
It must have many argentine moddelers happy XD
I have the Q and it will be on the way tomorrow :3 god willing Kirtchiner doesn't do something silly XD

i probably will try to get a sea harrier, arrived here too but i have a large list of thing reserved, included a SPITFIRE FR MK XVIII! X3 finally X3
and a CHURCHILL tank
and a STUG III
and a PANZER I
and a IL-2M X3!
for being airfix, is a quite more tought and detailed than the ones that i built before, definitly i like it a lot! the extra weapons makes it even better, are excellent spares or help for other planes x3
