The hoof caps were bought from 
DreamVisionCreations and glued to a pair of old slip-in shoes I've owned since middle school, which I had to foam in order for the caps to fit on nicely. Then I spraypainted the bottom and sides of the foam black. Finally I added the upper and back foam pieces to give the digitigrade a seamless look (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8752545/).
