Shorter Story Time, but still Story Time!
Technica had advanced.
The robotic army was pushing towards Organica's last defenses. They were bringing as much fire power as possible, even resorting to the mighty Towers.
They only needed to hold a little longer. Then they could complete Alder's next progression. Only a little longer.
Hanz looked over the letter of his mentor. It was old. 225 years old, in fact. He remembered the old man's last words, his crazy idea to build a planet.
He had done it and it had been marvelous. People could live there in comfort and peace.
He wasn't sure when Brutus had snapped. Perhaps he had always been insane ... but he took up a war with Organica. He did so in a way in which he could not lose ... with machines.
Hanz set down the letter, deep in though, pondering his former master's psyche.
When was it that he had begun to fear failure? When had he begun to fear death? When did he want nothing less than everything? And if he wanted everything, why would he only stop at Towers?
Hanz took out a large sheet of formulas. He read down to the bottom. Then, taking out his pen, he began to add on to the formula.
Brutus was mad, but he only had so many resources. This last wave was a rabid animals last attempt at victory.
Finishing, he looked at the formula.
He prayed he would never use it.
He would.
