Lionheart (Gilda)
This mix of drambuie and rum might seem sweet at first, but don't be fooled. This drink has more than enough attitude to floor you.
instructions
In a glass filled with crushed ice, build 1 oz of drambuie and 1 oz good dark rum or spiced rum (I used El Dorado and Kraken). Stir and serve.
This is my first new Cocktail for My Little Pony. I wanted to make something golden brown coloured that captured Gilda's regal yet bitchy attitude. Drambuie was a must for this as the mix of honey, scotch, and spice fits a griffon perfectly in my head. I added El Dorado 12 year old rum to the mix to give it a bit of brown sugar and baking spice. The end result was a delicious twist on a rusty nail but might be a bit too sweet for some.
I later Tried it with Kraken Black Spiced rum (not pictured) and the result was like a punch to the face in the best possible way. I recommend you try it with spiced rum; it really cuts down on the sweet! (and the extra 14 proof doesn't hurt!)
EDIT: Oh, by the way if anyone is interested in the photo I snapped it with my I-phone. The image itself is unaltered, I just uploaded it onto Facebook and transferred it here.
