a crudely rendered (no tablet today :/ ) icon for Grisser.
Sorry buddy, no chops on this one, I would have if my tablet was working. You get the idea though.

well I've fixed it 3 times now...
The first time I fixed it was when I got it, but I did a horrible job with the wiring and when my mom knocked it down by accident, they all came undone.
So I fixed it for a second time, made it much more secure. Also wrapped lots of tape around it. Then she accidentally knocked it down again and one wire came loose, so I had to open it up and re-do all the wires.
This time (the third time) I didn't tape it all back up (just used minimal amounts) and was able to see the stress points (i.e. where the wires are just automatically coming apart from gravity and stuff). The cable held together long enough for me to do this piece, which took about half an hour and by then the connection was bad enough that it was going in and out too much.
Because the damage is so close to the end of the cable, I don't have much spare wire to work with... and I've looked and almost nobody sells replacement cables; the very few sites who do, don't sell them anymore.
I may look into getting the wireless adapter for the new tablets and trying to modify it to work with this tablet (wireless feature isn't supposed to be an option...)
But when it works it's really great. I love the thing to death. Well, not literally. :P I need to practice soldering a bit and actually solder the wires if I'm not going to do the wireless thing.
