New development for SkahllyBir Tails is in the test round--undercoat.
When you look at real fur, whether on a pelt or your pet dog, you'll probably notice a downy coat of fur underneath the long fur--and that's what I'm trying to replicate here.
You can see on the top tail sort of shades of the undercoat, but mostly subtle and really not drastic at all; perhaps even hardly noticeable.
Brush it to the side (or with high activity, any way that the fibers get a bit ruffled) and see the undercoat, like you would on a real animal. You can see the gray undercoat on the bottom half, and the light beige undercoat on the top half kind of blends in but is still kind of visible.
Just one of our new developments! Gotta keep doing our best to give you the best!
What do you think?

Yeah, it's one of those things that isn't supposed to be super obvious in real life, so then trying to photograph it... XP I decided that if we ever offer it in the shop, along with the guard hairs Bir is working on, an actual demonstration video will be called for, lol. Still need to fine-tune it a bit more, though : 3
Ahh, yeah, I remember the guard hair thing, too. I'll bet videos with comparison to yarn tails without those features WOULD be really helpful if you ever decide to sell those things as options.
Really awesome, though! It's neat to see new things being tried with yarn tails. I've been itching to make more, but I don't know when I'll ever find time!

Oh yeah, that's always the thing! They're time-consuming little buggers! XP I find I do best if I work in batches. Like... decide I'm gonna sit down and make a batch of bundles one day, maybe 1/3 or 1/2 a tail's worth. Then maybe later or another day that I'm gonna brush out that batch and keep on till I'm done. And so on so forth until I have enough for a tail. Just an idea, it happens to be what works best for me, haha.
