Red-tailed hawk that came in emaciated and dehydrated

The human stuffing the tube down her throat is me.

You should see the stuff we chop up for the babies.
I have this pile of chopped up rat, crickets and live mealworms for some Kites and one of the volunteers goes "Only you can give cut up rat a nice presentation"

Luckily she was just a skinny kid that wasn't handling life without mommy and daddy feeding him anymore. After some fattening up we'll toss her back out to try again.

I feel bad when they come in super sick. They just seem to be at the point where they're ready to die.
Then they feel better and we are evil and must die. :D
