Yeah, I know dat it makes me look like a Honchkrow. My papa's Don Cuneo, he's a Honchkrow! Took me in when I was real little, when I didn't have nothin' or nobody. Taught me everything I knows too, how to take care of myself so them other mugs don't try to shove me around. Why wouldn't wanna look like him, right?
All right, all right. I'm not gonna get mad wit ya. I'm just kinda touchy today. Some punk Riolu's been running his yap about me again, so I got a battle lined up wit 'em tonight. I won't let nobody disrespect the Cuneo family name like dat! I dunno why folks can't just be like my pals on my team, dey don't make a big fuss about how I was brought up. I'd go anywhere wit 'em, especially Boss Eddie. He's tops in my book! He's been showin' me how to whup someone and look good doin' it too.
Papa says he's real proud of how much I've grown up dis last year, but just wait'll he sees what I can do now!
Compared to his freshman year, Raphael's toned down his fighting style a lot. When he first started out he was borderline ruthless with his opponents. After being voted by his classmates as "Most Likely To End Up In A Full-Body Cast" due to his habit of getting (and giving) injuries in almost every battle he fought, Vanessa quickly took it upon herself to hone his blind aggression into a more focused and less violent approach. Granted it was purely for her own selfish reasons (she didn't want to be thought of as associating with a vicious thug), but ultimately it's ended up being for his own good, as well as the good of the team as a whole.
Rather than just giving a flat-out beatdown to an a opponent now, Raphael prefers to intimidate them with his reputation and a couple of new moves he's recently learned. Becuse of his upbringing he actually doesn't know any fire type moves, but considering he still has some problems with controlling his explosive temper, that may be a very good thing for the time being.
RANDOM FACT: Raphael's name refers to the Cuneo family from The Godfather. In the video game, the Cuneo family symbol is a silhouette of a raven. It seemed appropriate for someone who was raised by a Honchkrow.
