Pandemonium
The London 2012 Olympic Games were a really fun and inspirational thing for me, as the Olympics so often are. The opening ceremony especially blew me away. I've since been listening to the soundtrack from the ceremony, in particular Underworld's track 'And I Will Kiss,' which was used during the stunning 'Pandemonium' segment that depicted the industrialization of Great Britain. It really has a strong impact on me, and apparently creates interesting mental images.
When I listen to the soaring and energetic drumming and singing in parts of the track, my brain has taken to visualizing an army of bare-chested anthrodragon labourers, drumming and singing their hearts out. The ground shakes with the pounding of drums and paws and tails, the air shivers with the roaring song. The emotion created by the entire event is stirring, thrilling. It makes you want to stand up and roar along with the song. It makes your blood run hot. It floods over you like a call to war, only it is the opposite. It is a call to all people to come together, to unite in a celebration of life and diversity and peace.

Aww, sorry you missed 'em. The ceremonies are always one of my favourite parts, and I thought London did an especially good job. If you were in Britain I'd point you to where you can still see the video of the entire ceremony on the BBC's website, but I'm pretty sure NBC has it blocked in the States. :P
X3 8DDDDDD! Yeah, autofave. I very like the story that came to your mind through And I Will Kiss, it's like the things that pop up in my mind when I listen to some things.
Dat welding of the rings, made me want to be a welder just for that, or choose at least the Metalworking skill tree for me X3 YAAAAY the Games! :D
...psst, let's volunteer for 2016 XD (no really!)

Hehe! I'm very glad you like. Yeah, that portion of the ceremony just really DID THINGS to my brain, and the music that went with it keeps DOING THINGS to my brain every time I listen to it, it's freaking awesome stuff. I know what you mean about the sequence making you want to be a welder or something. ^^
Hehe! Rio might be a bit of a commute for me, but the idea is fun. ^^

XDDDDDD seriously, I wanna get to the Games ONCE in my life at least as a volunteer. :3 And I found the closing ceremony music is what stuck with me, oh my gosh is the UK so hopelessly 80s. X3 I loved that one song by... that one band of young kids, You Don't Know You're Beautiful YAAAAAAY now that it's in the Games I'm gonna sing it all the time, just because of that. XD
Hehe! The music history of the UK is definitely something they chose to showcase during the ceremonies, and it seems a lot of what worked for them was 80's stuff. It was fun. It's neat how particular bits of music stick with you then and forever remind you and get associated with something like the Olympics that way. ^^
Yeah, who knew Freddie Mercury going PAPABADUBADEREEYO would be so cool to repeat XDDDDDDD

That's hard when you're trying to enjoy something and get in the spirit of it, and people around you are trying to ruin it by being cynical and cranky or whatever. Glad you enjoyed it though! I really get in the spirit of it too, and tend to cheer for nearly every country myself. Though yeah, North Korea and Syria I both sorta... was a little less excited to see there.
Oh wow, TOTALLY agreed - that's an incredible song, and was also an incredible scene that so beautifully showed how Britain revolutionized the world at the height of their empire through industry, enlightenment and their resiliency against great losses.
Beautiful image capturing the drummers at work with a dragon-flavoured twist. ^_^

Yeah. :) There are so many great moments in the ceremony that I find really moving, and that's one of them. Plenty of moments of beauty and awe, with several of simple fun humour as well. My own favourites are probably the entire Industrial Revolution sequence that spawned this drawing, and Emeli Sande singing Abide With Me. Thought it was a really beautiful performance. But it's hard to choose, the entire ceremony was really a masterpiece. :)
