Watched the series, felt it dwindle in the last half of the second season. and then the last episode came out that was just... painfully cheesy :I she coulda been soooo much more hardcore of a villain but the whole time i was guessing each and every event on how the story went. Except for how they got by the brides maids "Chrysalis: Clever/ Me: No, that was just stupid..."

Yes, she could have been more hardcore. But there's a couple factors in the way of that:
1: she's not out to kill anyone- she and her kind feed on love, and thus she can't risk hurting or killing anyone.
2: As much as I dislike this excuse, it's a show meant for kids. Yes, they're well aware of the brony community and how popular we've made the show, but in the end, their target demographic is little girls and their parents.

1. TRUE, but I meant, as i saw it that would of been a twist, she coulda been left as the last one to be revealed like at teh end of the show. she starts off being 'obviously evil' but when she knows that the elements of harmony is on her trail, she drains Shining's ... *groans a lil* "Love" and then breaks his heart so that the armies can invade while his will is broken and caught in illusion. Thus making the whole 'love conqors all' thing more potent. and then she makes some dramatic appearance at the end to cause tension for the viewers that she could come back at (a rumored) season 3... that's how i would of done it :T. BUt i guess we needed to have 'big brother, best friend' song thrown in there... -_-;
2. Its always a terrible excuse to not write in good stuff. Things can be directed at adults as much as kids.... just look at bugs bunny, animaniacs, and i thing even tiny toons if memory is right >.>
