FL.ame A.ssault SH.oulder weapon.
Ive been meaning to model one of these for a while, so I finally gave in and made one. Its not 100% finished yet though. This is the Rocket Launcher they put in a couple of the Resident Evil games, only they just made a rectangle with some cylinders coming out of it.
The problem is that nearly no reference material exists for this particular weapon. I basically only had some tiny pixellated pictures and some copied pages from a 1978 field manual to work with on this. With that in mind, I think it came out pretty spiffy. I know all the dimensions and everything are fine, but the mechanical and locking parts are likely not correct. Also, I havent modelled the cover latches yet, because I have no reference for them, so Im waiting until I can at least find one picture of those.

I hate to point to an Arnie movie for reference, but watch 'Commando' with him and Rae Dawn Chong. Lots of fun close-up play with a 202A1 in that.

Here you go, a clip from the Spanish translation. Of course, the blast is all wrong, but she couldn't very well plaster Arnie with at 22m napalm-burst. Much as some of us would have liked to have seen that:

M202A1 Flash is in reality 4 66mm AT rockets (like the ones used on the M72LAW) packed into a quad launcher configuration. Handled the :AW Rocket a few times in the military, but never got the chance of fidgeting with a Flash.
I think the company that makes the 1/6 scale version is Zacca and they make a lot of unique 1/6 scale weapons for Military figures, specially rocket launchers like the RPG-7V, the Panzerfaust and the AT-4.

Well, there's a good reason you never got to play with a FLASH launcher. the rockets weren't just 66mm AT rockets. they were incendiary. they were filled with a particalized TriethylAluminum compund. They would incinerate targets, and were outlawed by the Geneva conventions in the 70's. I think they tried to keep them in service as a multiple use LAW type weapon, but they tended to catch on fire.
