I'm still experimenting with style, trying to find the niche I want to sit in for comic production. I seem to keep drifting toward styles that are somewhere between anime-esque and Disney-like when I push. Either that or something very simple like a comic I used to read religiously online that had a girl with an overly active imagination named Ann, I think it was, as the main character. Haven't been able to find it since 2001, and the only clue I really have to hunt off of is that the artist is Canadian.
Moving back to the image. I got bored and figured I'd draw something that's never happened on a MUCK, but has been mentioned IC in several places. Lilith wearing a human shape.
Just doodled it out on some cheepo imitation bristol I got that I am beginning to prefer when I'm working in just pencil in about 30 minutes on two sheets of paper, then combined in photoshop.
I like this style and might tweak it just a bit, and I think I finally am having an easier time not having to think about some points of anatomy again. All the doodling I'm doing seems to finally be paying off in the ways I really want it to. I tried to incorporate a bit of my normal motion into the posing, in the fact that the military gave me the habit of hooking my thumbs in my pockets. Did that since Lil is supposed to at least partially be based on me in some points of attitude.
Please comment, I'm stumbling in the dark unless I know what people like or don't like about stuff. I am honestly looking to EARN some money off art here as well as work on a portfolio so I can apply to Dartmouth next year and spend my G.I. bill. By earn I mean deserve the right to money, not exactly try making a living off it yet. I just want to cushion how hard unemployment is right now, I've barely managed to scrape up enough to pay my bills next month.
Image is shrunk like most things I post on here. I need to start mentioning that more in case someone might be interested in a higher rez copy. ^_^;
Thanks in advance to commenters as long as comments are constructive if there's any negative points to make.

Hmm...constructive crit? I'll try for ya!
*ehem* -.-
Starting with the human form--her shoulders are a touch squished, given the pose. The one closest to us might look better if it was a little bit farther away from her head (does that make sense?). The way her right arm lands on her hip is a bit of a tricky one, but practicing a bit of foreshortening will improve that. Also, the illusion of her right shoulder being raised would be improved if you could see the curve of her neck. My overall opinion; it is a very good pose.
For the kitty in the bkg--make her face a little bit bigger to better incorporate cheeks. They look a little bit droopy right now, so giving then more of an angle should help to remedy that.
Ok, so that was me being as constructive as I could possibly be :P. Hope that helped! I usually don't give crits because it's tricky to put into words what I'm seeing my head >.<

Thanks! I get too much of it's great, or it's beautiful without anything else on there.
My big question for folks lately is, would anyone be willing to pay for work I could make. ^_^;
My roommate says yes, but it worries me that it feels like I'm being ignored around here lately compared to even just one month ago.

I've been feeling kind of ig'd myself, as of late. I suppose you could blame part of it on the season (eventhough my FA account was created last september, I didn't actually use it until december-ish, so I'm really not sure), and the rest could all be due to the time of day it was posted. Usually, if I post between 11a and 1:30p, I get more comments, images views, and watches. These last two I posted, and even my "victorian", didn't get a shit's worth of attention -.-
Oh, but as far as people buying your work, I would say that you'd probably have better luck going to places where people actually have money to buy things. A friend of mine, and even myself, offer commissions as well, but I haven't gotten all that much business from those who surf FA because most of them are too poor :P. I used to think my prices were too high at one point, but I figure like this; if I can sell a single b&w line drawing for $500, and other people on here get away with selling cute jell-o blobs that have smiley faces for upwards of $80, I see no reason why I can't charge $30 for a colored feline, ya know?
Yeah, I'd charge less, but my lessons from back in the day won't let me. lol
I got sales information put in my brain while I was learning figure drawing and all sorts of other stuff and I did commission artwork in high school, that's why I at least am saying I'll negotiate if someone really wants me to draw something.
