The story behind this, for those who don't play the game, dangerous mobs(Creepers, Skeletons, Zombies, Endermen) can potentially spawn in houses without enough light, and sometimes rarely even if you do have your house shelter/house/structure properly lit. And creepers will explode if you're near enough to them, so it's best to get the heck out if one does spawn, usually by that time it's too late.

In this scene got chased out of his house and is trying to fend off/kill the creeper.
