This is the finished version of my fox painted on porcelain. I'm pretty pleased with how it came out! Wiping the design out of the freshly-painted background was a new technique for me, so it was fun to give it a try. I will probably try this again, with other colors and subjects.

Not as much as doing all of my character plates. This was only three fires! I brushed on three colors on the rim, then pressed real leaves into the wet paint. After pulling them off, I brushed more paint out to heighten the contrast.
The fox design I drew on with my red pen before brushing on the same three colors. Then I used an oiled brush to pull the paint off where I wanted white, and added fresh color to darker areas. I used a metal crow quill to ink in the dark scratchy lines.
