As far as I'm concerned, recon is as good as the player, If a player sits at a stupid long range attempting to get headshots for his record book, they are worthless, if say... in rush, a recon is defending well, he is a good asset, or in conquest, if he is defending an objective from a distance, then there you go. But like I said it varies from player to player.
