This little guy was a character I made up in 2005 and recently decided to redraw. I have a whole story/world made up just for him and those that live in this said world, of which I'm tempted to actually do a comic-style story for (this is a maybe).
So Paws belongs to me and is copywritten 2005-present
Info on Paws and some about the race he comes from:
Full Name: Silverence Owainta Platon
Nickname: Paws
Age: 17
Race: Ki'kiun
Ki'kuin are a furry mammalian race that are closely related to they're normally cold-blooded relative the Haskim (A type of wingless dragon if you want to relate it to something we may know of). They tend to live in most climates, and their fur tends to range from very long, woolly coats of the highlands, to that of the shorter-haired version that lives in the dense, jungles of the lower plate. All Ki'kuin have similar markings on their fur, the young tend to have more of a whitish coloration (barely any rings of color or markings), whereas the adults are completely one solid color, having only a neck ring of white. Elders tend to have more of a dense, almost crystalline type of broad, flat fur that can be remarked to as scales (So they become less furry and more of our dragonlike idea ^_^)
Ages:
Hatchlings 0-25 (As they age, they slowly get their markings)
Juveniles 26-40
Young Adults 41-67
Adults 68-85
Rekin (Also known as young elders) 68-95
Solukuoon (Elders, but still in training to become true Wise Elders) 96-125
Tolfukonin (Wise Elders) 125-800
The Tolfukonin level is one that is nothing more than a legend. Those Ki'kuin who have actually become the highest level of Elder tend to shut themselves away from the rest of the world. They are considered holy, and if you receive any contact from one (as told in the stories), you are to fulfill the whatever task they ask of you. Most Ki'kuin end up making it to an Adult or even Rekin (the age of reproducing begins around 42, but has been known to happen in rare cases at the age of 30), and some even make it to the Solukuoon (They tend to be the leaders of the tribes).
Background:
As far back as he can remember, he's always been called Paws, due to the fact that it's easier to say/yell rather than his full name. More often than not, it's his name being yelled. He tends to be a bit of a troublemaker (but it's only because he is quite the inquisitor of things, and has a rather large imagination), and keeps to himself most of the time. Like all other hatchlings, he still remains bound to his mother's nest until his trial of Jakul (time of leaving) happens when he is around 17. Unlike most other Ki'kuin, he tends to be a bit of a dare-devil, and often wanders off when he has been told not to do so. He'd rather go exploring than sit through his teachings to get him ready for his Jakul, which also got him the nickname of Bobours (Shameful truth) among some of the elders in the tribe council, though no one really uses it unless he has found a way to dig himself into major trouble (Like the one time he brought a small Babori home with him to keep as a pet and it ended up eating half of the food storage when it escaped).
