I find I'm much more happy making crafts and 3D work than I ever was drawing. Something I can touch and use... or wear. I may even try making a fursuit myself someday.

That's cool. I have never been very good at crafts, but have done a good bit of leathercrafting and crocheting

Crocheting kills my hands... I'd love to learn leatherworking though. o_o

I would make my dad a wallet. And maybe archery bracers for myself.

Wow, that's cool. I made three wallets, but I lost the one I made for myself in the river...
But, yeah. I would totally recommend trying it, but be forewarned, to really make good stuff, you will have to spend a LOT of money on tools and things like that

Yeah that seems to be about how any craft goes... I have a business person's spirit though, if I invest a bunch of money in something I'll sell at least enough stuff to get my money back in supplies. ;3 I probably won't be looking into this seriously for awhile but... my Dad made a leather wallet for his Dad when he was in boy scouts and his Dad carried it until the day he died. He said something about how he'd like a wallet like that so I've been looking into it.

That's cool. They are a lot harder to make than it looks. And if you get good leather, then they will last basically forever. I just got a leather pouch from a guy who's Great Grandpa had it made 80 years ago, and it is still strong and very well-built

You got my intrest peaked so now I'm trolling around... found a pretty nice website with books, tools... the whole nine yards. Egad, if I keep trying all these different crafts I'll go mad trying to do them all. XD Haha!

All I've ever been able to draw is from an example pictoral or someone else's work... and when I draw that it's almost like copying it into pencil (or marker in this case). I can't draw things from my head... make anything original... my anatomy is always terrible. Even when I did draw I had no "style". Nothing had a look to it that related to any of my other work.
My drawing professor looked at my gallery at the end of the semester and said it was almost like different facets of my personality.

I'm just... bad at it.

Well that's how everyone starts out. Drawing from examples and existing subjects to perfect their techniques.
Maybe you're just being too hard on yourself.

But it's up to you what you decide to specialise in though, I'm not trying to persuade you to go back to it or anything.
And I like the little resin sculptures you make too. They cute!

YOU ARE NOT A TALENT-LESS HACK. You're wonderful and you do great work! Art and otherwise. Just because jerks tell you that you can't doesn't mean there is ANY truth to it whatsoever.

You're gifted, ma'am. And that's that.

I know you and I know you can draw, paint, sketch, create, mold, and do whatever you simply put that brilliant mind to.

Hahaha!! LEELEE!! *hugs* glad to have you amongst the furs darlin. This post is a bit old. :) I've started drawing again and its... actually very liberating being able to draw from my head for the first time ever.
