WIP: Razorback Traction Co. 'Crocodile'...
This particular beastie had its genesis a few years back when someone at a train show in Springfield, MO pointed out that a couple of Lionel slope back tenders would make a dandy steeplecab locomotive...
So, here's the next major project from the Razorback Traction company: A Lionel RS-3 cab and frame and a couple of Nickel Plate Road tenders combined to make something resembling the old "Crocodile" locomotives operating in Germany...
The coal loads will, of course be going bye-bye and a trolley pole added before the loco gets painted into Razorback red...

The originals were, yes, but this particular one resembles a German prototype more.

I look forward to see the finished result.
I take it the cabin part should be extended a little?
When I first saw the picture, I thought "did they make them steampowered initially?"
I wish I could make my own train models, but I'm one of those who is stuck with whatever Märklin, Roco etc. makes.
Bought a nice little commuter train lately, complete with engine sounds and what not...even a voice from the announcement system that says "Bitte einsteigen"

I suspect the coal sections will be cut out, and a longer cab section inserted:
