Oddly, the first year or so wasn't so bad, and there was a time when I thought the strip hilarious. I guess it was one of those things that pushed the envelope a little way but never got outside it, and stagnated. And as it was a money-mine for whatsisname, the artist, why change a successful formula?

I became a Calvin & Hobbes fan instead -- now that's one strip that went way behond the envelope and in my opinion never stagnated. When Waterson came to the point where the material was exhausted, he retired.

Why does Garfield hate Mondays? He doesn't even work!
