"I'm not fat." Wicker said annoyed.
"Well, you certainly aren't fluffy." Talon replied plainly, as they both trotted towards the stable from the small dirt road, a certain blond haired, hazel eyed, teenaged looking rancher leading them.
"You're just jealous that I get more attention then you do."
"You most certainly do not!"
"Are you sure? 'Cause you could always ask my manicured hooves. Or my styled main. Or my whitened teeth. Or my-"
"Okay, so you're a show horse! Big whoop. Besides, we race horses would never even dream of blowing hard-earned money on things so frivolous."
"Face it Talon, you're just soar that you placed third this year. Again. What is that, second year running? Or more your speed, trotting?'"
"You take that back, fatty." Talon said angrily.
"You take THAT back, slow poke!"
"Enough!" Draco interrupted, covering his ears, "just stop fighting, already!"
"Hmph." Both horses grunted as they looked away from each other.
"Man," Draco continued, "You'd think you two were mares the way you pick at each other sometimes." He said jokingly.
The trio walked inside the stables and Wicker and Talon trotted into their respective stalls, each one furnished to be different from the other. Wickers was full of pictures and ribbons of all sorts of sizes and colors. Talons had a small shelf on the wall with a couple of trophy's and some medals being displayed. Draco walked into Talons with him and placed a relatively small bronze trophy on the shelf near the back, He rustled the mane on talons head, making him smile, and walked into Wickers next, where he mounted a large blue ribbon on the wall, next to several others. He stroked Wickers neck and walked through a door in the back leading into the house.
After he was safely out of site, Wicker stuck his tongue at Talon, indicating his first place prize. Talon shook his head at it and walked towards his bed. Wicker then walked to his trough and started eating hay out of it.
"Your quick to your meal, Slim." Talon teased as he lie down.
"Your quick to a nap, Speed Racer." Wicker teased back.
"Maybe I'm tired."
"Maybe I haven't eaten since this morning. It is going to be dark soon."
Eventually, the two quit their picking and retired to sleep, tired after a long day in town. The next morning, Talon woke up around six with Draco, and they both went outside to enjoy the morning air, and Talon began casually trotting around the pasture. Around 7:30, Draco woke Wicker up (with a bit of resistance), and began the daily chore of grooming him. He bathed him, using heated water of coarse, toweled him of, shined his hooves, brushed his teeth, brushed his tail, and had finally gotten to brushing his main.
"You're lucky I care about you or I would've stopped doing all this a long time ago." Draco joked.
"Hhmmm…" Wicker hummed, enveloped in the bliss of being pampered like this.
"You know… you can be kind of needy sometimes." Wicker suddenly looked less happy.
"Well, Talon picks on me."
"Don't try and change the subject. Besides, you can have a sharp tongue too, you know."
"He starts it."
"Not all the time."
"Well, most of the time. You heard him yesterday, calling me fat."
"Oh yeah? And do you think he appreciated being called slow?" Wicker didn't say anything. "I know that you were both just getting worked up, and wanted to take it out. You didn't place first in every contest I entered you in, either. Your lucky I didn't show him your other ribbons."
"…Thanks…"
"Yeah…" Draco said, finishing up, "Just quit picking so much. I already had the same talk with Talon earlier, so don't worry about that."
"So what are you gonna do?" Wicker asked casually as Draco put the grooming supplies away.
"I think I'll go back inside and get some coffee brewing. Why don't you head on out into the pasture? It's a beautiful day out."
Wicker smiled as a warm breeze rustled through his light fur.
"Alright. I guess I could get some exercise."

I realized- I like doing these! Not only are they good art and writing practice, but they're fun too^^
Just an inside look at my ranch, and how much I hate having to listen to those two bicker. This was a while ago too, when these were the only two horses on the ranch. I'll have to write an actual story sometime in the future... have fun everybody!
