For a long time, the only characters that I had were Exilo, Uzira, and Avise. But I always like making characters to fill various roles in my stories and in my own thoughts. Oqiky was conceived as the opposite of Avise’s nihilism, and a more extreme version of Uzira’s optimism.
Oqiky went through, by far, the most changes of any character that I have. The only thing that has never changed is her signature color being purple, but even then, I originally didn’t quite know what purple was. I thought that purple was more of a shade of blue, it turns out that it’s a much darker color. Other things that changed: her species (she fluxuated between being a rabbit, hyena, or horse), her weapon style, her over all theme, her body type. Her body type changed to the point that I had a second ref sheet done originally, where she has a significantly larger build, being much pudgier. Although I liked the build as more seductive and motherly, I wanted this thinner build because it made her look more delicate. A lot of her characters are physically extremely weak, relying more on mental stuff.
Like I said, her characters physically very weak, to the point almost anyone else could beat them in a fist fight. Her characters compensate for this by having outright psychic powers in universes that allow that, or being excellent talkers who can manipulate others with only a few words. Other than that, she relies on subterfuge and deception. Her characters tend to be very attractive (hence she has the “perfect” hour glass figure). Something that occurred to me in this picture: she has very small hands, as you can see.
Oqiky appears in “What Happens…” as Oqiky the rabbit, and in the MLA fic “Everything is Wonderful” as Aba Ilana. Aba demonstrates her theme of manipulation very well.
Oqiky belongs to me.
