Poor Fiachra. Like the rest of his family, he loves books and stories, and he has been known to drop everything just for the chance to hear a new one. Unfortunately, books are incredibly rare on the island of Viridis, where the endless wars and the day to day struggles of simply finding enough to eat take precedence over art and literature. The only books he knows of belong to his cousin Megan, and while she is always happy to share them with him, it's hard for him to swallow his pride enough to ask.

Aw, well thank you. I've always flattered myself that I could do a pretty decent job at teaching. Though I'm sure it helps a lot to have a student who really does want to learn. Poor Fiachra. I probably shouldn't torture him this way, but I just wanted a little something different, to show a different side of him. He has always regretted his lack of an education, even though he's had about as much as the ordinary person has for his time and place. But you can't help but kind of admire someone who is so eager to learn more about the world around them.
*Blushes* She certainly has. I think it looks really good on her, and cute besides. No need to feel obligated to draw it if you decide not to. It's certainly not a big deal or anything. But it would be sweet of you if you did.

Aha, finally FA allows me to favourite this! Such nice expressions on both characters' faces here, and in particular in the way they look at each other. There's something about that which I think is really sweet, and you can tell (as you imply) that this is by no means the first time a scene like this has been played out.
Yay! FA has been really slow for me lately, so I guess there's some kind of issue on their end, but I'm glad it finally let you add this to your favorites, and I'm really flattered you did, too. I think it's a really sweet little picture, too, and Kioni really outdid herself with it, especially on capturing their emotions just perfectly. Which she always does with my characters, really. I had meant for this to be a fairly regular thing for them, too, yes. I've been trying and trying to think of somethings they could do together that would be sweet and innocent, as both Megan and Fiachra are badly in need of that sort of thing, and this just seemed like the perfect idea for that. Even if it does mean embarrassing the poor boy to death.
