Backing track purchased on http://karaoke-version.com . Original Song written by and performed by Neil Diamond.
Birch continues with a discussion of his childhood with his therapist, talking about his imaginary friend who seems to be more than imaginary and the relationship with his karate teacher.
I don't recall when I decided to use this song, but as soon as I heard it, I knew I needed to, simply because it was about an imaginary friend. I altered the lyrics of the song to fit Birch's situation, but I did not have to change much at all.

I think I know of two reasons why Birch lost his guardian, obviously the actions of Rodger is one of them......but I'm sure there's another reason, Birch then must have admitted to himself that he wanted to be with another guy, since he didn't have such a figure in his life, as both his brother and father were gone for most of his life. Unfortunately, being molested wasn't the best way to find that out. Poor Birch. Great chapter though.
{sniffle} The more I learn about Birch, the more sadness I feel for him. I hope Birch heals and can regain some of his child innocence. Maybe his guardian will even come back to visit. Even adults sometimes need protection. I hope Birch gets better and finds someone special to help him heal his heart and soul. Like Stargazer finding Sara. Birch seems so sad and sometimes so angry at himself.
