At camp I wore this really cool top hat. After a while, I started putting a whole bunch of feathers that I found into it. I only put in the coolest looking feathers, and this was one of my favorite ones. On the last day of camp, the ranger told me I was looking to about 6-30 years of jail time from my hat because it's illegal to own feathers from protected birds. He suggested I carve my own feathers, so I did!
The next step is burning in the feather details. When you use the wood burner it cuts in slightly which is perfect for getting every individual strand. I'm worried about botching it up so I took a picture now just in case.
Lastly I have to paint it, which I am also worried about failing, so I'll take another picture after that and put the previous parts into scraps.
