Do they really like having their tongues petted? That'd be kinda weird...

This one seemed to, the others mostly preferred just the nose and lips.

ive been around horses of all types fer a long time . . . well since i was about 10-11 . . im 23 now . . . and ive never seen a horse that did that . . . . that didnt have a physical issue . . . A meduim sized mixed pony, his name was peanuts, these peeps tried to use him as a bucking pony before his new owners got him. They twitched his bottom lip tightly till the little critter would freak out . . . . . unfortunately that resulted in his lower lip loosing circ too long and it had to be removed. So them freaks ripped it off. Luckily the poor guys original owners had so nosey neighbors and those peeps lost him. peanuts new owners came to where i was working. . . and this little pony was the most adorable thing. his mane stoop straight up, his tounge hung out of his mouth cause his whole bottom lip was removed by the vet, and he drooled . . . and i mean DROOLED . . it was hilarious, peanuts would wait fer you to bend over and wipe his mouth on yer back, or yer should, neck, arm, leg . . . LOL

I seen a few horses that did that a time or two.

Usually stallions that do that get aroused when you rub their tongues.
