ACTION POSE! I seem to be doing a lot of those lately. :3
Continuing with the Olympic commissions, Digitz is showing off his skills at beach volleyball. I thought about making the volley ball like a fireball...but then I decided against it. It looks like it has plenty force behind it without it also being engulfed in flames.
Additionally... I tried a new way of making shadows this time by just using a silhouette of the character that was squished and rotated and then blurred. What do you think? Too realistic for my cartoony style or is it good?

Everyone's of course free to view the picture in any way they want and in whatever way works for them. For me personally as the commissioner, though...I find the idea of my character as a cub being able to jump that high, not to mention forcefully spike a ball, to be quite cool, with perhaps a bit of cuteness thrown in there. That's what I wanted from the sketch, and that's what I feel the sketch does...so I'm completely happy with it.
The shadow looks fine to me ^^ It's cool that you're trying to do action poses, too! Just keep in mind which direction the character is coming from; anything that's remotely soft should be pointing in that direction, otherwise it'll look like he's hovering motionless in the air. You're doing the right thing with the arm and legs; I think the tail, hair spikes and ears could do with a little bit more bending >:B
For the ball, try making it a bit more oval, and blurring it a little to make it look like it's in motion. :3
