Bubbles continued to trickle from the dragons snout whenever his body contracted. Uselessly he pressed his paw on his chest as if that would help to keep the air to leave his body or magically earn him at least one additional gulp of air into his screaming lungs. Too soon though there was no air to keep in anymore but the pain in his lungs lessened for the brief of a second, probably awaiting a form of relief when his maw would open.
Only half conscious he could feel a wave of warmth covering his body suddenly. “Now it ends…” rushed through his mind.
He didn’t know why but something was keeping him from finally giving in to the water though.
Without any time to react – if he would have had the strength to, anyways – two slightly hard but very warm lips touched his maw.
Triggered by this touch he eventually inhaled. His lungs were not filled with water though. Instead, he drew in a hot gasp of air.
His eyes flew open instinctively and his glance directly met two bluish, green eyes. This foreign face was the most beautiful thing the young dragon could have imagined in that moment.
Bubbles were rising across her beak when she tried her best to supply him with enough air to survive.
Dreamily he closed his eyes once more, again not believing what was happening but only wishing that it was true…
