Duel at midnight!

About two months ago I posted a series of B/W sketches for a Three Musketeer piece. Well here is what the final piece looks like. It is one of the better and more ambitious color pencil works of mine. Although I have one under in production and one pending that will probably top it.

Very nice! Let me be the first to comment on the lovely foreground and background. The cobblestones and the silhouetted city have a truly organic feel about them, not to mention the exciting sword fight- but I'll leave that one to subsequent viewers.

Yeah I'm happy how the mist on the water. This piece was heavily influenced by the work of the late Angus McBride.

The level of detail and workmaship in this piece is just... just... astounding!

I can never get over how natural and real your character look while in motion.

Well you can thank Smudge for that! She really worked with me on that piece to make certain that I got all my figures to flow and move properly. She is a patient teacher in that sense.

Amazing dynamic poses and great composition. Also nice coloring!

I must also congratulate you for the great level of detail you put on clothes, weapons and other details, which are the secret of making a great "period" scene.

Thank you. It is something that much of the population may not notice but without it the piece has a fake quality to it. One of my hobbies is history and use to build models for contests so I like to sweat the details

I've always loved this picture Baron. I fence as a hobby and it speaks volumes to me. :) I should have got that as a huge print to frame when backbreaker was up. Regrets. :/
