Chapter XV of the original book is titled: "Gli assassini inseguono Pinocchio; e dopo averlo raggiunto, lo impiccano a un ramo della Quercia grande," which means "The assassins chase Pinocchio and, after catching him, hang him from a branch of a large oak."

Yeah, it is. The book itself is pretty fucked up and cool, and worth a read, I think. For example, the Talking-Cricket character (Jiminy Cricket) is actually killed by Pinocchio, and he becomes his "conscience" by appearing to him as a ghost.
