Anyway can't spoil too much of =3 Rose vs Angel in a battle to save Petie & Jules! Read to see who comes out victorious!
*ATTENTION* This includes an intire deck made of SELF-MADE cards. If you don't like them I apologise and would like to state this is my FIRST time doing this in one of my stories. If there's enough negative backlash I won't do it again... but please tell me what you think about them =3 *ATTENTION*

Rose was in the grips of a nightmare. It was like she was watching a projection… she could hear and see everything but was helpless to affect the outcome. There was this psychotic mew girl who, ironically enough, called herself Angel and Petie & Jules had been dueling her… and they’d lost. They’d lost BADLY which left Rose with no choice but to watch helplessly as the freakish psychic type had turned her precious baby brothers into cards! The world had gone dark as she’d been left listening to that monsters laugh before she’d woken up screaming…
And found herself in the same daycare from the dream.
“… well looks like I get to strangle that bitch after all…”
“Just so you know if you do that and it’s a forfeit, and hello to you too Nanny.”
Rose growled as she got to her feet, glaring burning hatred at the mew across from her who just giggled innocently in response. Rose took quick stock of herself, finding she was dressed in her Obelisk Blue cosplay with a matching duel disk. A quick check confirmed she did indeed have her own deck. “… we duel, I win you let my baby brothers go.” Rose said, not bothering to waste any time with niceties at this point. Angel laughed merrily “Aaaaaw, why so to the point? Where’s the fun in that? But yeah, beat me and you get your baby brothers back! Heck I’ll even release all my other victims too! Wanna know why?”
“Not really.”
“Too bad, cause I’m going to tell you.” Angel said, sticking her tongue out “Cause this is a SPECIAL deck! One I’ve been building for quite a while now… and it’s almost done! I just need oooooone more card to finish it.” She cooed wickedly “Any guesses who that will be?” she asked as Rose just continued to give her a flat, murderous look “Try it, I’ll make you look as twisted as your soul is.” The khan spat as Angel made a false look of terror “Ooooooh I’m soooo scared! Okay then… lets duel!”
Rose LP: 8000 Angel LP: 8000
“You can go first then, Ms. Hero.” Angel said mockingly as Rose drew her card “… I play Heart of the Underdog!” she shouted as the continuous spell appeared “But it doesn’t have an effect right now… so I’ll set one monster and one facedown. Your turn.” Rose said, obviously still enraged. Angel just giggled and pulled her card “Calm down! You look angry enough to pop! Actually that might be pretty funny to see…” she said, swaying in mid-air for a moment “But anyway you should enjoy this! After all you’re the first person to EVER see these cards! I summon Cub Brave Warrior!”
Rose blinked in confusion as she heard something similar to an old fashioned music box playing the tune “Rock-a-Bye Baby” as a monster she was certain wasn’t a real card appeared. It was a toddler shinx, or at least he looked like a toddler convincingly since she’d been around Pre-K enough not to judge age by appearance, wearing a thick cloth diaper held on by comically large safety pins. He was wearing a green tunic with a red scarf and a matching green cap on his head. In his hands he held a toy sword and shield and he looked at Rose with the most pitiful, heartbreaking eyes she’d ever seen (700/300).
“… what… no… WHO is he?”
“My you catch on quick!” Angel giggled “This is another duelist I beat, a little age adjustment here, some torture there, and he’s a monster for my new archetype! Cute huh?” she asked as Rose looked caught between disgust and horror. The mew just shrugged “Oh well… anyway I play Nursery Fortress!” her field card slot opened as she played the card and the scenery changed. They were now standing in the middle of what looked like a giant fortress made of baby blocks and other toys with a huge baby bottle acting as a tower off on one side “This fort has a few powers, like lower the attack of all monsters by 300!! Except for Cub monsters that is… now Brave Warrior! Attack her facedown!”
The shinx cub cried softly as his body seemed to move without his will as he waddled over to the card, toy sword raised “It doesn’t matter right now but I thought I’d let you know, any monster that battles Brave Warrior loses 300 attack points times there level…” Angel said as the lion cub swung his sword down… only to be bounced back, tumbling to a stop on his padded butt back on Angel’s field. “WHAT!?” she shouted as a golem like creature made of dark grey stone rose up from Rose’s card. It had thick limbs, a rounded body, large shoulder pads, and a small red head as it knelt down, arms crossed in front of it (800/2000).

“Seems my Elemental HERO Clayman was a little too tough for you.” Rose said, allowing a smirk to cross her face as Angel gave her a dumbfounded look “… when I called you Ms. Hero I was just teasing you know… you play E-Heroes? Serious?” the mew asked before shrugging “So much for getting a good fight. Anyway I set two cards and end my turn.” She said as two cards appeared behind Brave Warrior who was sniffling as he rubbed his eyes, trying not to cry.
“My draw!” Rose called, doing her best to ignore Angel’s monster and the fact it used to be a person “And Heart of the Underdog activates! If my draw is a normal monster I can show it to you to draw again! And my draw is… E-Hero Avian!” she turned the card around to show it was a normal monster before pulling another card “And this one is… E-Hero Sparkman!” she showed another normal monster “But this one’s not a normal monster so I’ll stop there… and play HERO’S Bond! Now since I have a face up HERO monster I can special summon two level four or lower ones from my hand!”
“So say hello to Elemental HERO Avian!” in a flurry of wind a man wearing a bright green bird like costume made of feathers appeared. He had an armored chest and shoulder pads with a white ruff around his neck and a pair of large white wings sprouting from his back. He glared angrily at Angel through his bird-like mask (1000/1000) “And Elemental HERO Sparkman!” in a burst of electricity another hero appeared, this one wearing a blue jumpsuit with gold colored armor over it covering his chest, shoulders, wrists, and ankles. A set of blade like protrusions jutted up from his back and his face was concealed in a blue visor like mask… but you could tell he was glaring at Angel as well (1600/1400).
“HA! Neither of your comic-book drop outs can stand against my Brave Warrior!” Angel shouted as the fortress around them rumbled “And remember my fortress cuts 300 attack from all of them!” she shouted as the heroes attack fell (500/2000) (700/1000) (1300/1400). Rose didn’t seem bothered by this as she continued on unhindered “And I normal summon Elemental HERO Burstinatrix!” she shouted as a female hero appeared. This one a ashen pale lady wearing a red jumpsuit with flared boots and gloves. A golden helmet/headdress sat on her long dark grey hair as a fireball appeared in her hands as she glared angrily at Angel (1200/800) before the fortress cut her attack (900/800).
“Soooooooo WHAT! None of them can TOUCH my monster due to his effect! Their levels are all too high and their attack scores waaaaaaaaay too small!”
“I play The A. Forces!!”
“… unless you do that…”
The continuous spell appeared next to Heart of the Underdog on Rose’s field “As long as this is in play all my warrior type monsters gain an extra 200 attack points for every warrior or spellcaster monster I control! Since I have four warriors their attacks all go up by 800!” she shouted as her monsters started to glow before the glow merged together into on huge ball of energy that lit up Rose’s side of the field (1300/2000) (1500/1000) (2100/1400) (1700/800) “… I don’t know who you are but I hope you’ll understand this is for your own good and that you’ll someday forgive me.” Rose said, looking at Cub Brave Warrior who just hung his slightly “Now… Sparkman! Attack with Static Surge!”
“I activate Time Out!” Angel’s trap suddenly lifted as Brave Warrior suddenly let out a pained squeak as an invisible force dragged him towards the nearest corner by the ear. Rose and her monsters looked on in confusion as the invisible force made the poor shinx stand with his nose in the corner before a tiny stool appeared under him and he was allowed to sit down. “This card lets me remove one of my Cub monsters from play to end the current phase of the duel and force you to go to the next one… which is your Main Phase 2.” Angel explained, giggling innocently as the shinx sniffled and blushed in shame “I get to summon him back to the field during my next standby phase though.”
“… fine… I end my turn.” Rose said, obviously grinding her teeth. Angel giggled “Now I activate my Fortress’s second effect! Instead of drawing I can add one Cub monster from my deck to my hand during my draw phase!” she said as the card popped out of her deck and whatever invisible force dragged him there in the first place lifted Brave Warrior out of the corner and plopped him back down in front of her. “Next… I summon Cub Strong Guard!” another toddler appeared, this time a pachirisu boy. He was diapered just like Brave Warrior but was wearing plastic play armor and a toy knights helmet. He was also carrying a plastic shield so big it made him fall back on his butt as he tried to carry it. He sniffled and gave her the same sad look the Shinx had (0/1300).
“His effect is that when he’s summoned he automatically switches to defense mode and can’t switch back… oh and that he gives a Cub monsters on the field a 300 attack point boost!” Angel said with a giggle as her monster’s attack rose (1000/300) (300/1300) “Now then… Brave Warrior attack her Sparkman! Baby Basher!” she shouted as the shinx was once again forced to waddle forward, his effect kicking in as Sparkman’s attack took a nosedive (900/1400) and the hero was cut down with a single swipe of the cub’s sword... as Rose’s trap lifted in response as a spotlight showing a stylized H appeared in the sky. “That activates my Hero Signal! Now I get to summon a replacement hero… and I choose another Sparkman!” as a copy of the electric hero jumped out onto the field.

Angel just rolled her eyes “Well that didn’t accomplish much… I set one card and end my turn!” she chirped as a facedown appeared. “I draw!” Rose pulled her card and looked at it “It’s not a normal monster… but it is H – Heated Heart!” A burning blue H appeared behind Sparkman “By awakening the inner flame of one of my monsters it gives them 500 extra attack and the ability to damage you through defense till the end of the turn!” she shouted as Sparkman’s attack shot up (2600/1400). “I activate Nap Time!” Angel shouted as her trap lifted... and every monster on the field fell over fast asleep. “This card moves all monsters on the field to defense mode and they can’t change battle positions till after your second end phase!” Angel said before grumbling a little “and if I had three Cub monster in play I’d get to draw two cards but…”
Rose narrowed her eyes “I end my turn…” as Angel’s castle glowed again and another monster slipped out of her deck “Now I play… Cub Playground!” a continuous spell appeared as a toddler playground sprung up around them in the fort “Now I get to special summon one attack position Cub monster from my hand during my main phase… like a Second Cub Brave Warrior!” another toddler appeared, this one a poochyena, dressed the same as the shinx and just as unhappy looking (700/300) as he posted up due to Strong Guard (1000/300).
“Next… I’ll normal summon Cub Grand Mage!” a Toddler Zorua, diapered like the rest of them, wearing a blue open faced wizard coat and a floppy blue wizard’s cap, both covered in stars, appeared. He sniffled and weakly waved the star topped plastic wand in his hand (400/900) before Strong Guard powered him up (700/900). Rose was unimpressed as she snorted “So? Your prisoners don’t have the attack points to get through any of my monsters defense.” She said as Angel giggled wickedly “Not yet at least… give me time… but since I’m out of cards it’s your turn!” she said, switching right back to her innocent tone of voice.
“… my draw…” Rose looked at her card for a moment “I end my turn…” she said, obviously disappointed which made Angel giggle teasingly “Awwwwww, bad draw? Well I’ll skip my fortress’s effect this turn!” she said as she drew and the original Brave Warrior yawned and rubbed his eyes as he got back up “And since that was your second end phase Nap Time has worn off… but I can’t do anything since I got a bad draw myself… oh well!” she shrugged casually and smiled “Your turn!” she chirped as Rose eyed her suspiciously and drew before revealing a high level normal monster “Since this is a normal monster I’ll draw again!” as she did so she looked her hand over “Then… I’ll tribute Avian and Clayman to summon my Elemental HERO Neos!!”
There was a blinding flash of light that engulfed the earth and wind heroes as a new monster rose up. It was muscular and broad shouldered with a body that seemed to be made of a shining white material as opposed to a jumpsuit. It had red and blue markings decorating it with a blue gem set in the center of its chest. Matching horns jutted out of its forearms and off the back of its streamlined head as it struck a pose (2500/2000) before the fortress weakened it (2200/2000) and The A. Forces brought its attack power right back up (2800/2000).
Rose didn’t stop there as a glowing light purple O appeared on the field “And then I play O – Oversoul! Now I can special summon a monster back to the field like my first Sparkman!” with a surge of electricity a copy of the electrical hero rose back onto the field as The A. Forces glowed and their scores all recalculated (1700/800), (2100/1400) x 2, (3000/2000) and Rose pointed at Strong Guard “Neos! Free that soul from its suffering with Force of Neos!” she shouted as the burly monster rushed towards the squirrel.
“I activate Grand Mage’s effect!” Angel shouted as the fox wizard started waving his wand and reluctantly chanting a spell as best as somebody with only a few of their baby teeth could “By paying 500 lifepoints and removing the card from play I can activate a Cub normal spell or trap in my graveyard! Like my Nap Time trap!” she giggled wickedly as the trap slipped out of her grave and all the monsters in play collapsed asleep in defense mode again “And since I HAVE three or more Cub monsters in play this time I get to draw two cards!” she said as she pulled two cards and Rose looked at her darkly before motioning for the mew to take her turn.
“I draw! … and I activate Snack Time!” a spell card appeared as suddenly baby bottles appeared in her monsters mouths which they sucked on while still fast asleep “This card gives me the choice of either gaining 600 lifepoints for every cub monster on the field or drawing a card for each one capping at three cards.” Angel said before giggling “Oooobviously I chose to draw!” she pulled three cards off her deck “And I’ll set two cards and end my turn!” she said as two facedowns appeared and Rose pulled her card “… I set one card and end my turn…” the kangaskhan said weakly, hanging her head as Angel laughed “Just pathetic… I use my Fortresses power to add another Cub to my hand!”
As she pulled the card from her deck her two Brave Warriors and Grand Mage yawned and stood up in attack mode “Next… I summon another Cub Strong Guard!” another armor wearing and shield bearing toddler appeared, this time a meowth girl, and fell on their bottom (0/1300) “And she adds an extra 300 to the boost all my monsters get!” Angel cheered as all her monsters scores went up (600/1300) x 2, (1300/300) x 2, (1000/900) as Rose just rolled her eyes “Can’t say I’m too impressed so far… your decks not that powerful and you still can’t beat my monsters.” She said making the mew girl puff up with annoyance.
“Oh yeah!? Well I play Stop Defense! Now I can force your Neos into attack mode where he’s easy prey for my Brave Warrior! Now attack with Baby Basher!” she shouted as the crying shinx was forced to waddle forward again… as Rose grinned “You fell for it… I play Justi-Break!” her trap lifted as the now standing Neos swung his arm up, a bolt of energy shooting up from it, before crashing down on every monster on the field “When you attack one of my normal monsters this destroys every monster on the field EXCEPT attack position normal monsters!” Rose called as Angel stared in open mouthed shock as her toddler army shatter.
“Bu… bu… but… you’re suppose to be the good guy!!”
“Yeah, so?”
“They were my innocent prisoners! And you killed them!”
“Oh like death is ever final in this game exactly HOW many ways are there to special summon from the grave? Anyway I have to beat you to free them so all I can do is hope they’ll forgive me.”
“Who CARES if they forgive you!? Cause I won’t and it’s still my turn!!” Angel shouted, her composure gone “And I use Cub Playgrounds effect to summon Cub Tiny Recruit from my hand!” a tiny pichu girl appeared. She was barely a year old by the looks of it and dressed in just a diaper and bib. She had the same sad, tragic eyes as the rest of the Cub cards though as she looked at Rose pleadingly (100/100) “And then I end my turn!” Angel hissed, her cute and innocent act discarded completely for the moment.
“I draw!” Rose added the card to her hand then pulled another one “I summon E-Hero Avian!” a copy of the winged warrior appeared as The A. Forces and the Fortress adjusted his score (1100/1000) “And I’ll play R – Righteous Justice! Now I can destroy spell and trap cards equal to the number of face up E-Heroes I control! So your two facedowns are history!” the golden colored R appeared on her field as two streeks of energy fired out of it at Angel’s facedown cards. “Well I’ll activate one of them then! I play Spanking! Now I can force one monster into defense mode and deal damage to its owner equal to half that card’s defense… but if I use it on a Cub monster I get to draw a card so I’m targeting Tiny Recruit!” Rose winced as there was two smacks on the pichu’s diapered bottom making her start bawling as she shifted into defense mode, Angel drawing and ignoring the tiny amount of damage.

“… that was a needlessly cruel move you know…” Rose said, giving Angel a dark look as the mew stuck her tongue out “So. What.” she said dismissively making Rose grind her teeth more “Fine then… Avian! Gently attack her monster…” she said, as neither she nor her hero felt good about this move as he walked over to the crying baby and poked her, making the pichu shatter. Angel giggled madly “Tiny Recruit’s effect activates now! Depending on how she’s sent from the field to the graveyard I get to activate one of two effects… and when she’s destroyed by battle I get to special summon a Cub monster from my deck and end the battle phase! So say hi to Cub Sweet Prince… or as you might know him… Petie!!!”
Rose went pale as a new monster appeared on the field. The fur on his face was matted with tears and his clothes were different but the teddiursa was unmistakably Petie. He was wearing the same thick cloth diaper that the rest of the Cub monsters but he had the vest, poofy sleeved shirt, and cape of a fairytale prince as a tiny crown rested on his head (500/200). He immediately tried to call out to Rose when he saw her but no sound came out of his mouth as an invisible force kept him rooted in place.
Rose was about to charge forward to get him when Angel’s voice cut her off “Move from that spot and your disqualified.” She said, back to her giggly and innocent tone of voice “So now then… lets see how your whole “Destroy them to save them” idea works NOW shall we?” she teased tickle Petie’s ear as he cried “Now that I have your baby brother on my field… anyway the battle phase is over but it’s still your turn.. .anything ELSE you’d like to do?” she cooed as Rose shook her head, still trembling with anger.
“My go then! And I’ll use my fortresses power to search out our next special guest!” she cooed as a card popped out her deck and Rose realized what she was about to do “You wouldn’t dare…” she sputtered just as Angel made a truly twisted smile “Watch me! I summon Cub Sweet Princess!” the monster that appeared next to Petie was, as Rose had feared, Jules. Just like Petie the riolu’s cheeks were tear stained and he was diapered… but over it he was wearing a fairytale princess dress short enough you could see his diapers with a little tiara set on his head (100/600). Rose could feel her anger boiling as the sound of mocking wedding bells were heard in the background.
“… it’s bad enough you use them as weapons against me… but this…”
“Whaaaaaaat?” Angel said mockingly as the boys sobbed silently “They act like sweethearts already so what’s the problem? Anyway I can do whatever I want with them so there!” she finished by sticking her tongue out mockingly. Petie and Jules started to glow as they tried to resist but their bodies were forced to hold hand “Anyway there effects activate now too!” Angel giggled “They both share an ability… as long as there’s another cub monster on the field you can’t attack either of them! So don’t worry, you don’t have to make the choice to off your baby brother… since you won’t get the chance!” she shouted, laughing madly.
“Next Sweet Princess’s power is that Cub monsters can’t be destroyed by targeting effects… so don’t think of getting rid of them THAT way either.” The mew explained “Next I’ll set two cards and use my Sweet Prince’s power! He can attack you directly!” Petie shook his head furiously as a rattle appeared in his hand and he tried to fight it as best he could when his body moved on its own to wind back, all the while Angel clapping with enjoyment at the “Show”, before Petie finally was forced to throw the rattle which would have knocked Rose in the head if she hadn’t brought her arm up to block. He gave her a heartbreaking “I’m Sorry” look as Angel laughed more “And I end my turn!”

Rose pulled her card and looked at it for a moment before a bright green E appeared on her field in an explosion “I activate E – Emergency call. Now I can add an Elemental HERO to my hand from my deck… and I’ll summon her. Come out E-Hero Burstinatrix!” once again the lady of flames rose up, standing next to Avian and Neos as all their attack scores readjusted (1500/800) (1300/1000) (2800/2000) while Angel put on a mock terrified look “Ooooooh I’m so scared! What will I ever do?” she cooed as Rose gave her a murderous look “And then I play my SECOND R- Righteous Justice! Your Nursery Fortress finally falls along with your facedowns!!”
“Well then I’ll activate BOTH of them! First off is a copy of Spanking!” The smacking sound filled the air as Jules bit his lip to keep from crying out as he fell over in defense mode, tears streaming down his cheeks, as Angel pulled a card and ignored the damage “And the next is Temper Tantrum! It lets me select one Cub monster on the field and deal damage to you equal to double its attack points!” The trap started to glow an unpleasant red color that suddenly leapt to Petie and covered him as he seized up in pain and tried to resist before losing the fight as the trap made him launch into a full on crying, kicking, and screaming tantrum.
Rose LP: 6400 Angel LP: 6350
“Course the selected monster is removed till my next standby phase…” the weakly sobbing teddiursa faded away as her Nursery Fortress crumbled and they were back in the daycare “So you CAN attack now… if you want. After all this little sissy isn’t even your family is he?” Angel cooed as she motioned to Jules who was sniffling weakly “So why not smash him? Come on… I bet you could enjoy it even.” She added, grinning wickedly as Rose just sighed “… I end my turn…” making Angel giggle madly.
“Oooooooooof course, decent people are sooooo stupid! That’s why good SUCKS!” she laughed “Love, justice, hope? All of it is WORTHLESS. ALL of it! The moment you care about something more than yourself your weak and it can be used against you!” Angel taunted as she drew her card “That’s why evil will always win! This ain’t one of those stupid cartoons you watch after all!” she sneered as Petie faded back into existence, both boys were hanging their heads and looking despondent.
“Now then… I think it’s time to introduce you to my shining tribute to my boss… I special summon Cub King Royal Brat!!” A small, tinny sounding revelry like somebody trying to play a toy trumpet was heard as an elegantly carved highchair made in the image of a throne rose up. Sitting in it was a mewtwo baby who looked about a year old. He was a chubby kid and like the rest of the Cub monsters was diapered, though his safety pins seemed to be made of gold. A crown that looked two sizes too big for him sat lopsided on his head and he held a golden and jeweled rattle in one hand as he folded his arms and pouted furiously (100/100).
“His royal grumpiness here can’t be normal summoned and can only be special summoned when I have two or more Cub monsters with different names on the field.” She explained as the baby shook his rattle and kicked his little legs furiously “And so long as I have another monster on my field he can’t be attacked so thanks to your baby brother and sister” she giggled and Jules sniffling at that comment “I’m STILL untouchable! Next… I’m going to use his power!” with a furious wail the little legendary pitched his rattle hard at Jules’s head making the riolu wince and look at him confused.
“Once per turn he can give a Cub monster other than himself 1000 attack points and the ability to attack directly… so I’ll move my Sweet Princess back to attack position!” despite Jules struggling to resist he was dragged back to his feet as his points rose (1100/600) “And then I’ll play… Legendary Rattle!” Petie looked in confusion as an incredibly large silver rattle appeared in his paws, a blue ribbon tied around it in a bow and the image of playing baby pokemon carved onto its bulb “By equipping this to my Sweet Prince I give him 500 extra attack and keeps you from activating any card effects when he attacks!” she cheered and Petie cried and his points rose (1000/200).
“Now then… attack her directly!””
Rose brought her arms up to defend herself as both boys were forced to throw their rattles at her, Jules picking up the gold one he’d been hit with and throwing it, as the toys smacked into her and bounced off. The Silver one landing in Petie’s paws and the gold one landing back in Royal Brats hands as Angel laughed wickedly “Oh this is just TOO rich! A big sister being beaten to death by the very babies she’s supposed to protect! The cruel irony is just too wonderful!” she giggled, swaying energetically in the air “And when you lose I’ll make you into my strongest card yet! Queen Cub Caretaker! You’ll be reunited with your brothers that way at least… you can beg them to forgive you for failing!” Angel said, snickering wickedly “And at that I end my turn!”

“… so you think love and justice are stupid?” Rose asked as she pulled her card, turning it to reveal Clayman and drawing again “That hope is meaningless?” Angel snickered more at the question “Well DUH! Love, justice… are they worth anything? Do they get a good exchange rate? Do they keep the cold, the wet, the slings and arrows away from you? No! They’re just worthless ideals wanna-be heroes like you throw around like party favors!” she said, motioning in the air dramatically, making it obvious she’d given this speech before “Hope is just self-delusion! People thinking they can change their lot in life, that things will get better, all worthless! That’s why you heroes will ALWAYS fail in real life and it’s why I’m going to make your loved ones beat you into submission!!”
“… too bad you’re going to lose.”
“Stupid babble from a hero about to fail, keep it coming. It’s rather funny to be honest!”
“I summon E-Hero Clayman!” the golem hero rose back up as Rose’s monsters, now free of the fortress’s spell, gained their full power boost from The A. Forces (1600/2000) (1800/1000) (2000/800) (3300/2000). Rose pulled the second card she’d drawn and gently slipped it into her disk. Suddenly the scenery changed to a dark and stormy night in what looked like a city. Angel looked around confused “… a field spell?” she asked as Rose just shook her head “Nope, dramatic backdrop for the card I just played...” suddenly four different colored streams of light, blue, green, yellow, and purple, shot out of her graveyard and stretched into the sky piercing through the clouds like the light of dawn.
Angel looked on in confusion as in another flash the beams of light took shape into a blue H, a green E, a yellow R, and a purple O all burned across the night sky like a billboard. Her eyes widened as she got over her surprise and realized what it spelled out “Hero…!?” she said as Rose grinned “By removing one copy each of H- Heated Heart, E – Emergency Call, R – Righteous Justice, and O – Oversoul from my grave I can activate my trump card! Hero Flash!!” the kangaskhan shouted the four letters began to shine brightly with their own illumination making Angel wince and shield her eyes.
“First off it lets me special summon one normal E-Hero monster from my deck to the field, so say hello to my last Sparkman!” Rose shouted as the electric hero appeared in a flash of lightning filling up Rose’s last monster card zone “And lastly… it lets ALL normal E-Heroes I control attack you directly this turn! And don’t forget their power boost from The A. Forces!” sure enough with a full field the shared energy between the five monsters was almost brighter than the lights in the sky (1800/2000) (2000/1000) (2200/800) (2600/1400) (3500/2000). Angel fell to the ground for the first time during the duel, a look of pure disbelief on her face.
“N-n-no! T-this… you… NO! NO NO NOOO!!!” Angel screamed, the mew’s face taking on a rather twisted look as Rose clenched her first and began her own speech “Love gives people strength they’d never find by themselves, by believing in justice we can work to make it happen, and hope lets us strive towards a better future… someone like you who so casual discards such things never had a chance against me…” the kangaskhan held up her clenched fist, showing the back of it to Angel, as the five monsters did the same “So here’s a little something I learned from an anime I watched with Petie!”
“Our spirits are aflame!!” a chorus of voices joined Rose’s, four male and one female, and seemed to be coming from the Elemental Heroes themselves as their clenched fists glowed “If we feel the fire there is nothing we cannot defeat!!!” suddenly all five heroes shot into the sky, trailing light like comets, and vanished for a moment thought their voices could still be heard “And now this hand of mine is burning red!! Its loud roar tells me to GRASP VICTORY!!” they shouted together as one before coming down crashing through the HERO spelled out in the sky, pulling it and its energy with them as they fell towards Angel like a storm of meteors.
“ERUPTING ELEMENTAL HERO ATTACK!!!”
Angel screamed like a banshee as the attack hit her and she was illuminated in a blast of white. Rose could clearly see the cards of Angel’s deck flying free from her deck slot and grave as they vanished in sparkles of light. She could even swear she hear cheering and shouts of joy as they went. All except for the Royal Brat which gave her a hate filled look before shattering into shadowy blobs and fading away. As the blast died down the mew slumped to her knees, body steaming, as Rose looked down and found Petie and Jules clinging to her legs, both boys were crying, dirty, and needed dry diapers… but they appeared to be safe and unhurt letting Rose breathe a sigh of relief.

Scooping the boys up and hugging them Rose looked at Angel, the mew’s fur now a sooty color from the explosion as she glared back at the Kangaskhan. Her face twisted horribly with pure hatred as she hissed “Why… how… how could I lose to… to YOU!?” she demanded, voice filled with confusion and disbelief. Rose sighed and shook her head “After those speeches you gave? I’m certain even if I explained it you wouldn’t understand… now go back to whatever hell you came from.” Rose said as Angel threw her head back let out an unearthy scream before shattering into dark blobs just like Royal Brat had and faded away just the same as the world around them turned white.

Rose yawned as she sat up, finding two tiny, fuzzy shaped clinging to her. Which turned out to be Petie and Jules dressed in nothing but drooping diapers and with tear stained cheeks. Quickly gathering them in her arms and cuddling them she looked around, only relaxing when she was certain she was back in her room. Gently nuzzling the two one at a time to get their attention she asked “Bad dream boys?” to which they both nodded and she just cuddled them more “Well it’s over now… you’re welcome to sleep with me though. I’ll scare off anymore nightmares that decide to rear their ugly heads… after we get you two changed” she said, gently picking the two up and heading for the changing table in Petie’s room. The forces of evil needed to learn one fact of nature…

Believe in True HeroesRose was in the grips of a nightmare. It was like she was watching a projection… she could hear and see everything but was helpless to affect the outcome. There was this psychotic mew girl who, ironically enough, called herself Angel and Petie & Jules had been dueling her… and they’d lost. They’d lost BADLY which left Rose with no choice but to watch helplessly as the freakish psychic type had turned her precious baby brothers into cards! The world had gone dark as she’d been left listening to that monsters laugh before she’d woken up screaming…
And found herself in the same daycare from the dream.
“… well looks like I get to strangle that bitch after all…”
“Just so you know if you do that and it’s a forfeit, and hello to you too Nanny.”
Rose growled as she got to her feet, glaring burning hatred at the mew across from her who just giggled innocently in response. Rose took quick stock of herself, finding she was dressed in her Obelisk Blue cosplay with a matching duel disk. A quick check confirmed she did indeed have her own deck. “… we duel, I win you let my baby brothers go.” Rose said, not bothering to waste any time with niceties at this point. Angel laughed merrily “Aaaaaw, why so to the point? Where’s the fun in that? But yeah, beat me and you get your baby brothers back! Heck I’ll even release all my other victims too! Wanna know why?”
“Not really.”
“Too bad, cause I’m going to tell you.” Angel said, sticking her tongue out “Cause this is a SPECIAL deck! One I’ve been building for quite a while now… and it’s almost done! I just need oooooone more card to finish it.” She cooed wickedly “Any guesses who that will be?” she asked as Rose just continued to give her a flat, murderous look “Try it, I’ll make you look as twisted as your soul is.” The khan spat as Angel made a false look of terror “Ooooooh I’m soooo scared! Okay then… lets duel!”
Rose LP: 8000 Angel LP: 8000
“You can go first then, Ms. Hero.” Angel said mockingly as Rose drew her card “… I play Heart of the Underdog!” she shouted as the continuous spell appeared “But it doesn’t have an effect right now… so I’ll set one monster and one facedown. Your turn.” Rose said, obviously still enraged. Angel just giggled and pulled her card “Calm down! You look angry enough to pop! Actually that might be pretty funny to see…” she said, swaying in mid-air for a moment “But anyway you should enjoy this! After all you’re the first person to EVER see these cards! I summon Cub Brave Warrior!”
Rose blinked in confusion as she heard something similar to an old fashioned music box playing the tune “Rock-a-Bye Baby” as a monster she was certain wasn’t a real card appeared. It was a toddler shinx, or at least he looked like a toddler convincingly since she’d been around Pre-K enough not to judge age by appearance, wearing a thick cloth diaper held on by comically large safety pins. He was wearing a green tunic with a red scarf and a matching green cap on his head. In his hands he held a toy sword and shield and he looked at Rose with the most pitiful, heartbreaking eyes she’d ever seen (700/300).
“… what… no… WHO is he?”
“My you catch on quick!” Angel giggled “This is another duelist I beat, a little age adjustment here, some torture there, and he’s a monster for my new archetype! Cute huh?” she asked as Rose looked caught between disgust and horror. The mew just shrugged “Oh well… anyway I play Nursery Fortress!” her field card slot opened as she played the card and the scenery changed. They were now standing in the middle of what looked like a giant fortress made of baby blocks and other toys with a huge baby bottle acting as a tower off on one side “This fort has a few powers, like lower the attack of all monsters by 300!! Except for Cub monsters that is… now Brave Warrior! Attack her facedown!”
The shinx cub cried softly as his body seemed to move without his will as he waddled over to the card, toy sword raised “It doesn’t matter right now but I thought I’d let you know, any monster that battles Brave Warrior loses 300 attack points times there level…” Angel said as the lion cub swung his sword down… only to be bounced back, tumbling to a stop on his padded butt back on Angel’s field. “WHAT!?” she shouted as a golem like creature made of dark grey stone rose up from Rose’s card. It had thick limbs, a rounded body, large shoulder pads, and a small red head as it knelt down, arms crossed in front of it (800/2000).

“Seems my Elemental HERO Clayman was a little too tough for you.” Rose said, allowing a smirk to cross her face as Angel gave her a dumbfounded look “… when I called you Ms. Hero I was just teasing you know… you play E-Heroes? Serious?” the mew asked before shrugging “So much for getting a good fight. Anyway I set two cards and end my turn.” She said as two cards appeared behind Brave Warrior who was sniffling as he rubbed his eyes, trying not to cry.
“My draw!” Rose called, doing her best to ignore Angel’s monster and the fact it used to be a person “And Heart of the Underdog activates! If my draw is a normal monster I can show it to you to draw again! And my draw is… E-Hero Avian!” she turned the card around to show it was a normal monster before pulling another card “And this one is… E-Hero Sparkman!” she showed another normal monster “But this one’s not a normal monster so I’ll stop there… and play HERO’S Bond! Now since I have a face up HERO monster I can special summon two level four or lower ones from my hand!”
“So say hello to Elemental HERO Avian!” in a flurry of wind a man wearing a bright green bird like costume made of feathers appeared. He had an armored chest and shoulder pads with a white ruff around his neck and a pair of large white wings sprouting from his back. He glared angrily at Angel through his bird-like mask (1000/1000) “And Elemental HERO Sparkman!” in a burst of electricity another hero appeared, this one wearing a blue jumpsuit with gold colored armor over it covering his chest, shoulders, wrists, and ankles. A set of blade like protrusions jutted up from his back and his face was concealed in a blue visor like mask… but you could tell he was glaring at Angel as well (1600/1400).
“HA! Neither of your comic-book drop outs can stand against my Brave Warrior!” Angel shouted as the fortress around them rumbled “And remember my fortress cuts 300 attack from all of them!” she shouted as the heroes attack fell (500/2000) (700/1000) (1300/1400). Rose didn’t seem bothered by this as she continued on unhindered “And I normal summon Elemental HERO Burstinatrix!” she shouted as a female hero appeared. This one a ashen pale lady wearing a red jumpsuit with flared boots and gloves. A golden helmet/headdress sat on her long dark grey hair as a fireball appeared in her hands as she glared angrily at Angel (1200/800) before the fortress cut her attack (900/800).
“Soooooooo WHAT! None of them can TOUCH my monster due to his effect! Their levels are all too high and their attack scores waaaaaaaaay too small!”
“I play The A. Forces!!”
“… unless you do that…”
The continuous spell appeared next to Heart of the Underdog on Rose’s field “As long as this is in play all my warrior type monsters gain an extra 200 attack points for every warrior or spellcaster monster I control! Since I have four warriors their attacks all go up by 800!” she shouted as her monsters started to glow before the glow merged together into on huge ball of energy that lit up Rose’s side of the field (1300/2000) (1500/1000) (2100/1400) (1700/800) “… I don’t know who you are but I hope you’ll understand this is for your own good and that you’ll someday forgive me.” Rose said, looking at Cub Brave Warrior who just hung his slightly “Now… Sparkman! Attack with Static Surge!”
“I activate Time Out!” Angel’s trap suddenly lifted as Brave Warrior suddenly let out a pained squeak as an invisible force dragged him towards the nearest corner by the ear. Rose and her monsters looked on in confusion as the invisible force made the poor shinx stand with his nose in the corner before a tiny stool appeared under him and he was allowed to sit down. “This card lets me remove one of my Cub monsters from play to end the current phase of the duel and force you to go to the next one… which is your Main Phase 2.” Angel explained, giggling innocently as the shinx sniffled and blushed in shame “I get to summon him back to the field during my next standby phase though.”
“… fine… I end my turn.” Rose said, obviously grinding her teeth. Angel giggled “Now I activate my Fortress’s second effect! Instead of drawing I can add one Cub monster from my deck to my hand during my draw phase!” she said as the card popped out of her deck and whatever invisible force dragged him there in the first place lifted Brave Warrior out of the corner and plopped him back down in front of her. “Next… I summon Cub Strong Guard!” another toddler appeared, this time a pachirisu boy. He was diapered just like Brave Warrior but was wearing plastic play armor and a toy knights helmet. He was also carrying a plastic shield so big it made him fall back on his butt as he tried to carry it. He sniffled and gave her the same sad look the Shinx had (0/1300).
“His effect is that when he’s summoned he automatically switches to defense mode and can’t switch back… oh and that he gives a Cub monsters on the field a 300 attack point boost!” Angel said with a giggle as her monster’s attack rose (1000/300) (300/1300) “Now then… Brave Warrior attack her Sparkman! Baby Basher!” she shouted as the shinx was once again forced to waddle forward, his effect kicking in as Sparkman’s attack took a nosedive (900/1400) and the hero was cut down with a single swipe of the cub’s sword... as Rose’s trap lifted in response as a spotlight showing a stylized H appeared in the sky. “That activates my Hero Signal! Now I get to summon a replacement hero… and I choose another Sparkman!” as a copy of the electric hero jumped out onto the field.
Rose LP: 7900 Angel LP: 6700
Angel just rolled her eyes “Well that didn’t accomplish much… I set one card and end my turn!” she chirped as a facedown appeared. “I draw!” Rose pulled her card and looked at it “It’s not a normal monster… but it is H – Heated Heart!” A burning blue H appeared behind Sparkman “By awakening the inner flame of one of my monsters it gives them 500 extra attack and the ability to damage you through defense till the end of the turn!” she shouted as Sparkman’s attack shot up (2600/1400). “I activate Nap Time!” Angel shouted as her trap lifted... and every monster on the field fell over fast asleep. “This card moves all monsters on the field to defense mode and they can’t change battle positions till after your second end phase!” Angel said before grumbling a little “and if I had three Cub monster in play I’d get to draw two cards but…”
Rose narrowed her eyes “I end my turn…” as Angel’s castle glowed again and another monster slipped out of her deck “Now I play… Cub Playground!” a continuous spell appeared as a toddler playground sprung up around them in the fort “Now I get to special summon one attack position Cub monster from my hand during my main phase… like a Second Cub Brave Warrior!” another toddler appeared, this one a poochyena, dressed the same as the shinx and just as unhappy looking (700/300) as he posted up due to Strong Guard (1000/300).
“Next… I’ll normal summon Cub Grand Mage!” a Toddler Zorua, diapered like the rest of them, wearing a blue open faced wizard coat and a floppy blue wizard’s cap, both covered in stars, appeared. He sniffled and weakly waved the star topped plastic wand in his hand (400/900) before Strong Guard powered him up (700/900). Rose was unimpressed as she snorted “So? Your prisoners don’t have the attack points to get through any of my monsters defense.” She said as Angel giggled wickedly “Not yet at least… give me time… but since I’m out of cards it’s your turn!” she said, switching right back to her innocent tone of voice.
“… my draw…” Rose looked at her card for a moment “I end my turn…” she said, obviously disappointed which made Angel giggle teasingly “Awwwwww, bad draw? Well I’ll skip my fortress’s effect this turn!” she said as she drew and the original Brave Warrior yawned and rubbed his eyes as he got back up “And since that was your second end phase Nap Time has worn off… but I can’t do anything since I got a bad draw myself… oh well!” she shrugged casually and smiled “Your turn!” she chirped as Rose eyed her suspiciously and drew before revealing a high level normal monster “Since this is a normal monster I’ll draw again!” as she did so she looked her hand over “Then… I’ll tribute Avian and Clayman to summon my Elemental HERO Neos!!”
There was a blinding flash of light that engulfed the earth and wind heroes as a new monster rose up. It was muscular and broad shouldered with a body that seemed to be made of a shining white material as opposed to a jumpsuit. It had red and blue markings decorating it with a blue gem set in the center of its chest. Matching horns jutted out of its forearms and off the back of its streamlined head as it struck a pose (2500/2000) before the fortress weakened it (2200/2000) and The A. Forces brought its attack power right back up (2800/2000).
Rose didn’t stop there as a glowing light purple O appeared on the field “And then I play O – Oversoul! Now I can special summon a monster back to the field like my first Sparkman!” with a surge of electricity a copy of the electrical hero rose back onto the field as The A. Forces glowed and their scores all recalculated (1700/800), (2100/1400) x 2, (3000/2000) and Rose pointed at Strong Guard “Neos! Free that soul from its suffering with Force of Neos!” she shouted as the burly monster rushed towards the squirrel.
“I activate Grand Mage’s effect!” Angel shouted as the fox wizard started waving his wand and reluctantly chanting a spell as best as somebody with only a few of their baby teeth could “By paying 500 lifepoints and removing the card from play I can activate a Cub normal spell or trap in my graveyard! Like my Nap Time trap!” she giggled wickedly as the trap slipped out of her grave and all the monsters in play collapsed asleep in defense mode again “And since I HAVE three or more Cub monsters in play this time I get to draw two cards!” she said as she pulled two cards and Rose looked at her darkly before motioning for the mew to take her turn.
“I draw! … and I activate Snack Time!” a spell card appeared as suddenly baby bottles appeared in her monsters mouths which they sucked on while still fast asleep “This card gives me the choice of either gaining 600 lifepoints for every cub monster on the field or drawing a card for each one capping at three cards.” Angel said before giggling “Oooobviously I chose to draw!” she pulled three cards off her deck “And I’ll set two cards and end my turn!” she said as two facedowns appeared and Rose pulled her card “… I set one card and end my turn…” the kangaskhan said weakly, hanging her head as Angel laughed “Just pathetic… I use my Fortresses power to add another Cub to my hand!”
As she pulled the card from her deck her two Brave Warriors and Grand Mage yawned and stood up in attack mode “Next… I summon another Cub Strong Guard!” another armor wearing and shield bearing toddler appeared, this time a meowth girl, and fell on their bottom (0/1300) “And she adds an extra 300 to the boost all my monsters get!” Angel cheered as all her monsters scores went up (600/1300) x 2, (1300/300) x 2, (1000/900) as Rose just rolled her eyes “Can’t say I’m too impressed so far… your decks not that powerful and you still can’t beat my monsters.” She said making the mew girl puff up with annoyance.
“Oh yeah!? Well I play Stop Defense! Now I can force your Neos into attack mode where he’s easy prey for my Brave Warrior! Now attack with Baby Basher!” she shouted as the crying shinx was forced to waddle forward again… as Rose grinned “You fell for it… I play Justi-Break!” her trap lifted as the now standing Neos swung his arm up, a bolt of energy shooting up from it, before crashing down on every monster on the field “When you attack one of my normal monsters this destroys every monster on the field EXCEPT attack position normal monsters!” Rose called as Angel stared in open mouthed shock as her toddler army shatter.
“Bu… bu… but… you’re suppose to be the good guy!!”
“Yeah, so?”
“They were my innocent prisoners! And you killed them!”
“Oh like death is ever final in this game exactly HOW many ways are there to special summon from the grave? Anyway I have to beat you to free them so all I can do is hope they’ll forgive me.”
“Who CARES if they forgive you!? Cause I won’t and it’s still my turn!!” Angel shouted, her composure gone “And I use Cub Playgrounds effect to summon Cub Tiny Recruit from my hand!” a tiny pichu girl appeared. She was barely a year old by the looks of it and dressed in just a diaper and bib. She had the same sad, tragic eyes as the rest of the Cub cards though as she looked at Rose pleadingly (100/100) “And then I end my turn!” Angel hissed, her cute and innocent act discarded completely for the moment.
“I draw!” Rose added the card to her hand then pulled another one “I summon E-Hero Avian!” a copy of the winged warrior appeared as The A. Forces and the Fortress adjusted his score (1100/1000) “And I’ll play R – Righteous Justice! Now I can destroy spell and trap cards equal to the number of face up E-Heroes I control! So your two facedowns are history!” the golden colored R appeared on her field as two streeks of energy fired out of it at Angel’s facedown cards. “Well I’ll activate one of them then! I play Spanking! Now I can force one monster into defense mode and deal damage to its owner equal to half that card’s defense… but if I use it on a Cub monster I get to draw a card so I’m targeting Tiny Recruit!” Rose winced as there was two smacks on the pichu’s diapered bottom making her start bawling as she shifted into defense mode, Angel drawing and ignoring the tiny amount of damage.
Rose LP: 7900 Angel LP: 6650
“… that was a needlessly cruel move you know…” Rose said, giving Angel a dark look as the mew stuck her tongue out “So. What.” she said dismissively making Rose grind her teeth more “Fine then… Avian! Gently attack her monster…” she said, as neither she nor her hero felt good about this move as he walked over to the crying baby and poked her, making the pichu shatter. Angel giggled madly “Tiny Recruit’s effect activates now! Depending on how she’s sent from the field to the graveyard I get to activate one of two effects… and when she’s destroyed by battle I get to special summon a Cub monster from my deck and end the battle phase! So say hi to Cub Sweet Prince… or as you might know him… Petie!!!”
Rose went pale as a new monster appeared on the field. The fur on his face was matted with tears and his clothes were different but the teddiursa was unmistakably Petie. He was wearing the same thick cloth diaper that the rest of the Cub monsters but he had the vest, poofy sleeved shirt, and cape of a fairytale prince as a tiny crown rested on his head (500/200). He immediately tried to call out to Rose when he saw her but no sound came out of his mouth as an invisible force kept him rooted in place.
Rose was about to charge forward to get him when Angel’s voice cut her off “Move from that spot and your disqualified.” She said, back to her giggly and innocent tone of voice “So now then… lets see how your whole “Destroy them to save them” idea works NOW shall we?” she teased tickle Petie’s ear as he cried “Now that I have your baby brother on my field… anyway the battle phase is over but it’s still your turn.. .anything ELSE you’d like to do?” she cooed as Rose shook her head, still trembling with anger.
“My go then! And I’ll use my fortresses power to search out our next special guest!” she cooed as a card popped out her deck and Rose realized what she was about to do “You wouldn’t dare…” she sputtered just as Angel made a truly twisted smile “Watch me! I summon Cub Sweet Princess!” the monster that appeared next to Petie was, as Rose had feared, Jules. Just like Petie the riolu’s cheeks were tear stained and he was diapered… but over it he was wearing a fairytale princess dress short enough you could see his diapers with a little tiara set on his head (100/600). Rose could feel her anger boiling as the sound of mocking wedding bells were heard in the background.
“… it’s bad enough you use them as weapons against me… but this…”
“Whaaaaaaat?” Angel said mockingly as the boys sobbed silently “They act like sweethearts already so what’s the problem? Anyway I can do whatever I want with them so there!” she finished by sticking her tongue out mockingly. Petie and Jules started to glow as they tried to resist but their bodies were forced to hold hand “Anyway there effects activate now too!” Angel giggled “They both share an ability… as long as there’s another cub monster on the field you can’t attack either of them! So don’t worry, you don’t have to make the choice to off your baby brother… since you won’t get the chance!” she shouted, laughing madly.
“Next Sweet Princess’s power is that Cub monsters can’t be destroyed by targeting effects… so don’t think of getting rid of them THAT way either.” The mew explained “Next I’ll set two cards and use my Sweet Prince’s power! He can attack you directly!” Petie shook his head furiously as a rattle appeared in his hand and he tried to fight it as best he could when his body moved on its own to wind back, all the while Angel clapping with enjoyment at the “Show”, before Petie finally was forced to throw the rattle which would have knocked Rose in the head if she hadn’t brought her arm up to block. He gave her a heartbreaking “I’m Sorry” look as Angel laughed more “And I end my turn!”

Rose pulled her card and looked at it for a moment before a bright green E appeared on her field in an explosion “I activate E – Emergency call. Now I can add an Elemental HERO to my hand from my deck… and I’ll summon her. Come out E-Hero Burstinatrix!” once again the lady of flames rose up, standing next to Avian and Neos as all their attack scores readjusted (1500/800) (1300/1000) (2800/2000) while Angel put on a mock terrified look “Ooooooh I’m so scared! What will I ever do?” she cooed as Rose gave her a murderous look “And then I play my SECOND R- Righteous Justice! Your Nursery Fortress finally falls along with your facedowns!!”
“Well then I’ll activate BOTH of them! First off is a copy of Spanking!” The smacking sound filled the air as Jules bit his lip to keep from crying out as he fell over in defense mode, tears streaming down his cheeks, as Angel pulled a card and ignored the damage “And the next is Temper Tantrum! It lets me select one Cub monster on the field and deal damage to you equal to double its attack points!” The trap started to glow an unpleasant red color that suddenly leapt to Petie and covered him as he seized up in pain and tried to resist before losing the fight as the trap made him launch into a full on crying, kicking, and screaming tantrum.
Rose LP: 6400 Angel LP: 6350
“Course the selected monster is removed till my next standby phase…” the weakly sobbing teddiursa faded away as her Nursery Fortress crumbled and they were back in the daycare “So you CAN attack now… if you want. After all this little sissy isn’t even your family is he?” Angel cooed as she motioned to Jules who was sniffling weakly “So why not smash him? Come on… I bet you could enjoy it even.” She added, grinning wickedly as Rose just sighed “… I end my turn…” making Angel giggle madly.
“Oooooooooof course, decent people are sooooo stupid! That’s why good SUCKS!” she laughed “Love, justice, hope? All of it is WORTHLESS. ALL of it! The moment you care about something more than yourself your weak and it can be used against you!” Angel taunted as she drew her card “That’s why evil will always win! This ain’t one of those stupid cartoons you watch after all!” she sneered as Petie faded back into existence, both boys were hanging their heads and looking despondent.
“Now then… I think it’s time to introduce you to my shining tribute to my boss… I special summon Cub King Royal Brat!!” A small, tinny sounding revelry like somebody trying to play a toy trumpet was heard as an elegantly carved highchair made in the image of a throne rose up. Sitting in it was a mewtwo baby who looked about a year old. He was a chubby kid and like the rest of the Cub monsters was diapered, though his safety pins seemed to be made of gold. A crown that looked two sizes too big for him sat lopsided on his head and he held a golden and jeweled rattle in one hand as he folded his arms and pouted furiously (100/100).
“His royal grumpiness here can’t be normal summoned and can only be special summoned when I have two or more Cub monsters with different names on the field.” She explained as the baby shook his rattle and kicked his little legs furiously “And so long as I have another monster on my field he can’t be attacked so thanks to your baby brother and sister” she giggled and Jules sniffling at that comment “I’m STILL untouchable! Next… I’m going to use his power!” with a furious wail the little legendary pitched his rattle hard at Jules’s head making the riolu wince and look at him confused.
“Once per turn he can give a Cub monster other than himself 1000 attack points and the ability to attack directly… so I’ll move my Sweet Princess back to attack position!” despite Jules struggling to resist he was dragged back to his feet as his points rose (1100/600) “And then I’ll play… Legendary Rattle!” Petie looked in confusion as an incredibly large silver rattle appeared in his paws, a blue ribbon tied around it in a bow and the image of playing baby pokemon carved onto its bulb “By equipping this to my Sweet Prince I give him 500 extra attack and keeps you from activating any card effects when he attacks!” she cheered and Petie cried and his points rose (1000/200).
“Now then… attack her directly!””
Rose brought her arms up to defend herself as both boys were forced to throw their rattles at her, Jules picking up the gold one he’d been hit with and throwing it, as the toys smacked into her and bounced off. The Silver one landing in Petie’s paws and the gold one landing back in Royal Brats hands as Angel laughed wickedly “Oh this is just TOO rich! A big sister being beaten to death by the very babies she’s supposed to protect! The cruel irony is just too wonderful!” she giggled, swaying energetically in the air “And when you lose I’ll make you into my strongest card yet! Queen Cub Caretaker! You’ll be reunited with your brothers that way at least… you can beg them to forgive you for failing!” Angel said, snickering wickedly “And at that I end my turn!”

“… so you think love and justice are stupid?” Rose asked as she pulled her card, turning it to reveal Clayman and drawing again “That hope is meaningless?” Angel snickered more at the question “Well DUH! Love, justice… are they worth anything? Do they get a good exchange rate? Do they keep the cold, the wet, the slings and arrows away from you? No! They’re just worthless ideals wanna-be heroes like you throw around like party favors!” she said, motioning in the air dramatically, making it obvious she’d given this speech before “Hope is just self-delusion! People thinking they can change their lot in life, that things will get better, all worthless! That’s why you heroes will ALWAYS fail in real life and it’s why I’m going to make your loved ones beat you into submission!!”
“… too bad you’re going to lose.”
“Stupid babble from a hero about to fail, keep it coming. It’s rather funny to be honest!”
“I summon E-Hero Clayman!” the golem hero rose back up as Rose’s monsters, now free of the fortress’s spell, gained their full power boost from The A. Forces (1600/2000) (1800/1000) (2000/800) (3300/2000). Rose pulled the second card she’d drawn and gently slipped it into her disk. Suddenly the scenery changed to a dark and stormy night in what looked like a city. Angel looked around confused “… a field spell?” she asked as Rose just shook her head “Nope, dramatic backdrop for the card I just played...” suddenly four different colored streams of light, blue, green, yellow, and purple, shot out of her graveyard and stretched into the sky piercing through the clouds like the light of dawn.
Angel looked on in confusion as in another flash the beams of light took shape into a blue H, a green E, a yellow R, and a purple O all burned across the night sky like a billboard. Her eyes widened as she got over her surprise and realized what it spelled out “Hero…!?” she said as Rose grinned “By removing one copy each of H- Heated Heart, E – Emergency Call, R – Righteous Justice, and O – Oversoul from my grave I can activate my trump card! Hero Flash!!” the kangaskhan shouted the four letters began to shine brightly with their own illumination making Angel wince and shield her eyes.
“First off it lets me special summon one normal E-Hero monster from my deck to the field, so say hello to my last Sparkman!” Rose shouted as the electric hero appeared in a flash of lightning filling up Rose’s last monster card zone “And lastly… it lets ALL normal E-Heroes I control attack you directly this turn! And don’t forget their power boost from The A. Forces!” sure enough with a full field the shared energy between the five monsters was almost brighter than the lights in the sky (1800/2000) (2000/1000) (2200/800) (2600/1400) (3500/2000). Angel fell to the ground for the first time during the duel, a look of pure disbelief on her face.
“N-n-no! T-this… you… NO! NO NO NOOO!!!” Angel screamed, the mew’s face taking on a rather twisted look as Rose clenched her first and began her own speech “Love gives people strength they’d never find by themselves, by believing in justice we can work to make it happen, and hope lets us strive towards a better future… someone like you who so casual discards such things never had a chance against me…” the kangaskhan held up her clenched fist, showing the back of it to Angel, as the five monsters did the same “So here’s a little something I learned from an anime I watched with Petie!”
“Our spirits are aflame!!” a chorus of voices joined Rose’s, four male and one female, and seemed to be coming from the Elemental Heroes themselves as their clenched fists glowed “If we feel the fire there is nothing we cannot defeat!!!” suddenly all five heroes shot into the sky, trailing light like comets, and vanished for a moment thought their voices could still be heard “And now this hand of mine is burning red!! Its loud roar tells me to GRASP VICTORY!!” they shouted together as one before coming down crashing through the HERO spelled out in the sky, pulling it and its energy with them as they fell towards Angel like a storm of meteors.
“ERUPTING ELEMENTAL HERO ATTACK!!!”
Angel screamed like a banshee as the attack hit her and she was illuminated in a blast of white. Rose could clearly see the cards of Angel’s deck flying free from her deck slot and grave as they vanished in sparkles of light. She could even swear she hear cheering and shouts of joy as they went. All except for the Royal Brat which gave her a hate filled look before shattering into shadowy blobs and fading away. As the blast died down the mew slumped to her knees, body steaming, as Rose looked down and found Petie and Jules clinging to her legs, both boys were crying, dirty, and needed dry diapers… but they appeared to be safe and unhurt letting Rose breathe a sigh of relief.

Rose: Win Angel: Lose
Scooping the boys up and hugging them Rose looked at Angel, the mew’s fur now a sooty color from the explosion as she glared back at the Kangaskhan. Her face twisted horribly with pure hatred as she hissed “Why… how… how could I lose to… to YOU!?” she demanded, voice filled with confusion and disbelief. Rose sighed and shook her head “After those speeches you gave? I’m certain even if I explained it you wouldn’t understand… now go back to whatever hell you came from.” Rose said as Angel threw her head back let out an unearthy scream before shattering into dark blobs just like Royal Brat had and faded away just the same as the world around them turned white.

Rose yawned as she sat up, finding two tiny, fuzzy shaped clinging to her. Which turned out to be Petie and Jules dressed in nothing but drooping diapers and with tear stained cheeks. Quickly gathering them in her arms and cuddling them she looked around, only relaxing when she was certain she was back in her room. Gently nuzzling the two one at a time to get their attention she asked “Bad dream boys?” to which they both nodded and she just cuddled them more “Well it’s over now… you’re welcome to sleep with me though. I’ll scare off anymore nightmares that decide to rear their ugly heads… after we get you two changed” she said, gently picking the two up and heading for the changing table in Petie’s room. The forces of evil needed to learn one fact of nature…

Another reason why you never look at low level monsters as weak, but it hurt seeing what she did to those kids.

Way to go Rose! =D A buddy of mine had a criticism for the Sweet Prince at least when I showed him. He said it's really broken he can attack directly without losing attack points cause somebody could just give him three Axe of Despairs and utterly smoke the opponent. He recommended that the Prince can't use Equip Spells. I suggested nothing but "Cub" equip spell cards like the rattle.
