Either way, this is the ureshinoshushiji, or Happiness breed of Emotion People, called the Xaflu.
I've been drawing things like the green one since elementary school; only recently have they been named and given a purpose in life.
As you may have guessed, it's to be disgustingly cute to make sentient beings happy. They feed off of happiness emitted like little solar batteries.
And the one down in the right was a suggestion from a friend of mine, "I brought you a cupcake, but I eated it."
Yes, they come in all imaginable colors, (and perhaps some beyond imagining).
