I felt like doing another pic of my char Kita, who was a variant ranger in a DnD game I played in a few years ago. He was a fun design. Basically he was able to turn into a crocodile. Just was bored and had an idea for a piece where he was just sitting on a riverbank partially shifted, and chilling out with a few other crocodiles. (I am planning on using this pic as part of the composition I think...)
But anyways, here he is, partly shifting over, and well, in the buff. Was a bit of fun trying to get everything to look sort of ok on this. I'm happy with it. =)
Inked in SAI, drawn with a ballpoint pen. Hope you like, and would definitely love to hear what you think.

Nicely done, I like how you set up the hips and tail as well as the reptilian yet still human maw, though one issue I may (depending on whether or not that's just the way he's posing or his foot is shifting into a digitigrade form) have with it is the feet, despite a close relation to future dinosaurs, Crocodiles, like lizards) walk plantigrade style on their whole foot, rather than on their toes like birds or dinosaurs. It's a common misconception and that's why I'm addressing it but it may not be an issue since he's partially shifted and anatomy is a bit hard to nitpick at that stage XD.
The tail censorship is a bit odd though wouldn't at that stage he have a cloaca so nothing'd be really visible, then again I like the classical style you chose, leaves more to the imagination of more dubious folk on the site XD.

His foot is arched actually because the pose worked out that way, that's all. When I looked at crocodile anatomy, I looked at how the feet were set up and well, they are kind of paddle-like, so I wanted to do something to show the growth in them. Good catch however =3
And when it comes to the choice for tail covering up any 'endowments' i chose to stick with classical, since, honestly it just felt right for where the pic was at. Plus i like letting people's imagination run a little when it comes to my stuff. ;)

Ah that's good, it's really astounding how many Anthro lizards and aligators I've seen with horribly wrong anatomy. I know he's inbetween shifts rather than anthro but still it's somewhat the same thing.
Well it's much nicer because of it. Afterall I wouldn't watch ya if you did a bunch of dirty poses. It's just a bit too far for my tastes.

Hee hee. Crocodiles and alligators always had a soft spot in my silly TF-lovin' heart. They were just the perfect mixture of reptilian anatomy - thick, meaty tails, elongated snouts that were fun to describe in TF stories, ridged scales running down the backside...very, very nice.
Your expressions are always so solid, too. The goofy little smile there along with his pose makes me smile, and the part with just enough tail to cover up his bits made me wonder just who he's trying to tease there. Also, the bits and pieces of scales over his body, the nice webbed feet, the detail of his musculature...all great details as always. Your ability to bring out the life in a character is impressive, cap'n.
I like this guy!

Thanks so much *hug*
I just, especially when it's a char design that i used for a game at one point in time, I really do get anal about the detail. As for who he's trying to tease... not saying anything on that just yet.
I really bog myself down with getting the essence of a character right, if i draw it one time correctly... something I am actually trying to work through.

cool style.
Never knew those tails are so bendy. My main char also has a similar tail, being a Chimera but then from a lizard type. Though it easily can go for a crocodile one too. a Chimera made out of animals I like.
The char is still young so there isn't much drawn of him yet.
You are a great artist.

I think I'll have to be the one to say it: Dat Tail! :D
Seriously, though, wonderful picture! One of the best I've seen, of a semi-human croc-guy of this style. Awesome posing, to keep him covered but still nude. Excellent scale detail as well, of course. I like the hints of it around his shoulders and neck, and on his arms. Super clean and crisp lines, as always. <3

I am actually to a point where i can say i am comfortable with using SAI for inking now. 've played with the interface long enough and fiddled with a few things, and know which settings that I like for what I do.
Getting the balance was tricky for the form, but I think it worked well for the pose.

It worked perfectly for the pose.
Looking back on this pic again today, I'm still in love with it, but I do wonder about the size of his tail. He MUST have to drag it on the ground, right? Not that real crocs don't do that, they certainly do. Of course, they're more comfortable in the water, as must Kita here, as well! To let that tail float out behind him and sway it lazily to glide placidly down the river.. :}

I enjoy how you have captured the partial change that the overall body would experience if it were possible.
Obviously the tail is a major component, so most of the change is that extension. The hands and feet are
a great addition as well, and so are the small accents of scale upon the otherwise smooth skin that your
character would normally have. Also, would love to play some DnD with you, I am sure you would make an
awesome player and will create the most amazing of characters for which to have. I wonder if you take
commissions, or if you are willing to do the female body.
(Warning: Constructive Criticism, in positive light) You seem to draw more male characters than females, and
would love to see your take on a female character, but I leave that up to you at all times. Also, I understand
that you go and research a lot, and I am highly impressed with how well anatomically you know the animal
features you place on your males, but would love to see you do more of the finer details. In essence, you are
still growing in your talents, and when you post art, there is constant improvement, and I look forward to more.
I hope it all came on a very positive note :3 Because, I love you art, and am loving this.

Thanks very much for the endorsement there. I haven't gamed in years though. Wouldn't mind trying to again, when back in the States.
As for drawing females, I have no aversion to drawing them really, it's just that when these ideas have been popping up in my head, they have been fiddling around with the human male as the base. I unfortunately do not take commissions, as my art 'sparks' tend to be fickle, so even though I have been able to crank out a bunch of pictures in a short time, I also have had weeks of no creativity really.
Since you have added me to your MSN, I definitely think we can chat on there more on this. I am not opposed to drawing out women, just, well, I think I would just need to work out a few things for the pictures a little differently is all.

Very nice Croc boy! I wonder if he's smiling because he knows his tail is covering up things his admirers really want to see. :P
That being said, I've always loved how you depict the inbetween stages of a transformation, just the right balance between human and animal. As always, very nicely done!
*drools a little, staring at his abs*
