I recommend seeing Lupine's and Daniel Kay's work. They add lots of onomatopoeias in their sequences, so looking at them may give you a good idea where to place the sound effects.
I also recommend practicing motion lines that simulate bloated effects and the speed of the bloating as they go great with onomatopoeias. I think Blue has some pretty good examples of motion lines. Good luck!
